Hi George,

Sorry to hear about the 'bump', I hope the damage isn't too significant.

As you say the offender gave you their contact number (albeit incorrect), do you have a description of the driver, their car and their registration number?  Any damage on their vehicle?  La Marina is a big village and with a little more information, someone may be able to point you in the right direction.  I'd also report them to Trafico and find out whether Consum or any other businesses in the vicinity has CCTV.

If you can't track down the offender and don't want to claim for your repairs on your own insurance, I can recommend an excellent body repair guy (and very reasonably priced): Carl of Choquito's in Quesada - mobile: 00 34 647 272 856.  Friends of ours recommended him when my husband's car was hit by one of the big wheelie bins at speed in high winds!

Best wishes,

Kim

If you've got the registration number speak to your insurance company. They can find the insurance company of vehicle that hit you and request them to contact the owner and ask.

Looks like they are not very honest and will probably say no. If that's the case you're stuffed. Police/Traffico will not be interested.

I know it happened to me.

Good luck.

Just out of interest (some years ago) My friend arrived back in a busy supermarket car-park to see her car, damaged all "stoved-in" to the side. She was relieved to see a note on the windscreen which said,

"All the people who saw me hit your car, are watching me writing down my details on your windscreen wiper blade. PS..... I am not not...... "

Thanks for your reply. CCTV is unlikely here as the Spanish do not allow it to show anywhere outside of your own premises. Looks like I will have to cover costs myself.
