In La Marina Urb, how long are people generally waiting for a habitation certificate to be issued by the town hall when waiting to purchase a property?

After we bought and applied for Cert of Habitation we had to wait a long time as we did not receive a letter asking us to pay a small fee for the council inspector to visit. once that was done it was very quick.

From your post I assume you are requesting the vendor supplies the certificate. It is up to them to chase I am afraid but perhaps your solicitor could gee them up a bit.

If the vendor has adapted/ extended the house in some way there could be fees to pay to regularise the work. Again your solicitor is the best person to advise you.

Hi Jay1947

Please can I ask did you apply for the Cert of Habitation yourself, if so was it easy to do?

No, our estate agent started the process when we bought but then went out of business. We went to townhall to check state of play later.

I do remember that as we did not have any previous cert of habitation cert we had to pay for an architect report. Cost a about €300 if I remember correctly. Will be more now I expect.
