Hi All... We are coming to rent a villa for a week in September to see the area with the view to maybe have the area on our "to buy" list.

Any help on what the area is like for bars/food and getting around...

Regards.

Dave And Suzy.

We’ve had a house on Forest Road (Avenida SAN Fulgencia) near International Stores for 15 years. We are not resident but visit 5 to 6 times a year and love the area. We don’t mind walking so from our house there is a small complex of bars bySupa Valu including the German bar (recommended) and the Lounge with regular entertainment plus restaurants. If you walk across to Consum Square there is a perimeter of bars and restaurants, lots to choose from and occasionally entertainment in the square itself. The there is what is known to the locals as ‘The Grey Area’ where 5 restaurants all sit outside in an enclosed area, all dishing out good food and a pleasant atmosphere. Finally up on the strip Londres you will find several bars and restaurants including Plaza 39 (recommended) which has regular entertainment. Hope this helps.

We moved to La Marina August last year, we find it has everything we need amenities hospital banks post office choice of supermarkets restaurants bars, cafes  all with easy reach, beach a short drive away 8-10 mins, other beaches to visit within a short drive, vets if you have pets, markets every day...and not too far from Alicante Airport, hope this helps. Good luck.

If you are worried about any of the food, there is an international store and the British Iceland store that sells most UK products including Waitrose products. But the prices are slightly higher than they are in the UK.

It is just a 30 min drive to the airport and just a short drive or cycle to the beach. There are tons of bars, food stores and shops within walking distance.
