Hello,

Hello!

Our offer for the house we like has been just accepted but the real estate agency suggested POA.

How common or trusting it is giving Power of attorney to the agency to handle the selling process? Any ideas or experiences?

Power of attorney   I  would  only give to Solicitors  and no one else and it is very  very common  over in Spain,  Save a fortune  on Flights over and back. We'll I  recommend  it if you residence  is overseas

Happy  Holidays in your  new home

Hello,

Thank you very much for the quick response and helpful information. It makes sense as it will be a lengthy process.

Kind regards

Natalia

Use your own chosen legal firm and give limited POA to the legal firm only, never to an estate agent.

No recommendations, just not the one the estate agent recommends. Someone on here will come with a good recommendation. Good luck with your purchase.

Hi Natalia,

We have offices in the UK and Spain and our solicitor who deals with house purchases (fluent English speaking) is based in Torrevieja, so would be able to act for you if you would like.

Give us a call on 865 756 058 and we can get them to give you a call in the first instance to chat through what is involved and fees etc.

Kind regards

Paul

Hi

We bought our house via power of Attorney in Playa Flamenca.

It cost 85 euros and was just for the house purchase. I must say it worked very well and we were able to move permanently to Spain without having to rent  any where .
