We bought our holiday home three years ago through Barclays and they arranged everything for us including setting up a bank account with direct debits for regular bills such as water, suma etc but we have never paid an annual non residents tax or received any letters about this.  We only use our villa about three times a year at the moment . Not sure what we should do about this but we are very worried having read about the charge recently in replies to other posts.

You are going to owe a chunk of tax amount determined by the value and size of your property.

Find a local solicitor ideally of a recommendation from here and get them to pay your backdated tax

Hi have a look on http://spanishtaxforms.co.uk. I have used this company based in the U.K. ( I now do the taxes myself) Quite a few on this forum have also used them. They have a comprehensive FAQ and if you’re still unsure you can email them for advice, without obligation to use their services. They are much cheaper then using a solicitor.

Yorkshire Lass is right about Spanish Tax Forms Ltd, based on the UK but Forms completed for you, simply print them off and take to your bank to pay, great service and much cheaper than a solicitor.
