Hi, I am currently renting in La Nucia but thinking of buying a property in Relleu. Any information or reasons to/not to would be appreciated. I have seen a couple of properties on the Muscaret urbanisation. Any advice would be most welcome.

We have recently bought in casses Mediterraneas these are the white villas nearer town.
Why we chose relleu over all the other areas we looked at; we wanted to feel like we lived or holidayed in Spain not little Britain, we wanted our property to be in a complex as at the moment it’s just a holiday home, we wanted to have views from the property, we wanted modern style not the old 70s spanish style.
We wanted a mix of residents and holiday makers and a mix of nationalities, we also wanted a few bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance (you might want to think about this but if looking as Muscarat, we decided against them because in a few places walls have fallen down and they haven’t been repaired and there appears to be lots of empty houses we added that to it’s a bit more of a walk to town on a narrow road too.
As for relleu it’s self it’s a wonderful place it has a Facebook page and the have just published everything that’s going on over Xmas. It has enough amenities to mean you don’t need to keep driving off to pick things up. The bakery is wonderful and the people we have met have all seemed amazing so far.
I believe crime is almost zero, which can’t be said about some of those other areas and urbernisations. There are some good deals to be had at the moment in that area too.
We only purchased in October and as ours was a bank repo we’ve been having it redecorated and New lightfittings and white foods installed and are having our first family Xmas out there from tommorow.
We did a lot of research, I guess it’s what you are looking for? It’s 18 mins from the beach by car (which is fine for us) 20 mins from the great shops in finestrat and 45-50 makes ms from alicante airport so for us it ticked the box’s conjoined with a killer purchase price for a 3 bed villa.

Thank you so much for your really useful and informative post. My wife and I have looked at your complex and really liked it for many of the reasons you have raised. We looked at some builder owned properties at 85 k euro and the real estate agent said this was non negotiable. Can I ask what you paid for yours? Fell free to email me your reply [email protected]
