Hi, if you consider an android TV box, pretty reasonable spec one around fifty euro, we use an excellent IPTV service which costs seventy euro a year, on top of that a VPN is required, surfshark have a deal on VPN. 2 year subscription around £58.
Why would you need a VPN for IPTV?
For say a Firestick and iPlayer etc. yes but for an IPTV service it shouldn't be necessary.
What service is it?

If you want to use IPTV that streams sky, BT sports etc without a VPN feel free.
Anyone that streams IPTV without a VPN should click on the link below.

You don't need a VPN if you have a paid for IPTV service like Tvmucho. I can receive upto 46 tv programmes including all the main UK channels.
I think "having" to use a VPN is well overrated and the scare stories are deliberately spread by vpn companies.
I've never heard of or read about anyone being fined or had services cut off for not having a VPN.

Your quite right, you do not need a VPN, it's just very advisable to have a VPN.
