Hi Lynn,

I doubt you are familiar with the square slice from Scotland, I can honestly say you won’t get sausage like it anywhere else, and definitely not from your Tesco, Iceland, or any supermarket in Spain.

Every master butcher in Scotland has their own unique recipe for square slice and black pudding, and they all say theirs is the best, I myself like to use a cpl of local butchers.

I have used the butcher at Los Dolses and prefer his burgers to his pork sausages.

Frank.

Ps, I take the sausage and black pudding out for my friends from England.

Hi, I am sure they're great quality and very tasty indeed..

But bringing any UK meats into the EU could cause a fine or you been send home and baned form Spain for smuggling meat onto the EU.

You pay your money You take your Chance.

I’m sure there are lots of people in Spain right now breaking the law for one thing or another.

Sorry Have only just found this item.    We buy very good sausages up at The Chop Shop Butcher in Quesada. (google map it, behind the Main Street into Quesada).   Pork, Cumberland (which we usually go for) or Lincolnshire.   They are excellent.  Very highly recommended, and if not close to where you live we use it as a drive out, a coffee and wander through the Main Street .   Ps. their pies/pasties are very good too.

I  think you may have misunderstood my post as I am talking about buying produce from the British butchers who are based over here in Spain and not breaking any regulations

They sell the meat in the cuts that we all recognise and produce their own  sausages, beef burgers, flavoured stir fry mixes etc etc.

If you tell any butcher here what the missing ingredients are, they will be more than happy to produce Lorne sausage, the way you like them!

We tried lots of sausage even from British butchers but have found Birr frozen Irish Sausages from Consum to be the tastiest.

Don’t really cook them that often as so many places have great reasonably priced breakfasts so it’s a nice treat to pop out for one and not have all the washing up!
