Hi Audrey,

If you have Pfizer it will be 3 weeks; if it's AstraZeneca it will be 12 weeks.

Kind regards,

Kim

I've had the Pfizer jab and got the 3 week gap.

Thank you for all your replies but does the 12 week gap between the second dose apply to AstraZeneca roll out in Spain?

Hi Audrey,

The gaps between doses in Spain are:

Pfizer           3 weeks

Moderna          4 weeks

AstraZeneca          12 weeks

Janssen          No gap as it's a single dose vaccine

Kind regards,

Kim

Thank you Kim but I have heard from someone who's having her vaccine next week and was told her second AstraZeneca vaccine is sometime in June. Also can anyone advise on this issue. I've have been treated for a type of bone cancer but was told by someone that I should have the moderna vaccine and not the AstraZeneca since there is a risk of blood clots. Can anyone advise on this?

Hi Audrey,

Perhaps something got lost in translation, because your friend is the first person I've heard of who has been told they have less than a 12 week gap between AZ jabs.  My husband and I, and 4 friends, who have all had our first dose of AZ at the mass vaccination centre in Torrevieja, were told our second dose would be in 12 weeks after the first.

Depending on your age, you may not receive the AZ vaccine anyway, but if you have any concerns regarding existing health conditions, you should discuss it with your doctor.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Gary, I had my 2nd Moderna jab yesterday, same as Elinspain. No side effects from the first jab, and just a bit of tenderness around where the needle went in from 2nd jab, so far! Good luck for tomorrow and hope it will be as painless for you too!

Hello Gary

Ist  time was a mild  sore arm for a couple of days & today similiar but my arm is a bit more painful to the touch below the vaccine site but don't expect it will last too long.

Cheers

Elinspain

Good luck for tomorrow, it's a good feeling to get them both.

The 12 week gap has been standard in the UK. The first dose gives a very high percentage of protection, over 70%, and means more people get some protection rather than a fewer number fuller protection. Once the second dose is given you have around 90% protection. It has worked well here and reduc...

Aitch..

In our area there is typically 6 to 8 weeks between doses - some GPs are doing it with as little as 4 weeks because some of them have lots of supply.

Ì got my first jab of Pfizer on 16th April and the second on 7th May. You do the maths.

Johnson and Johnson is only one jab.

I don't know if it's available over there but hopefully it is.

I had my first jab (Pfizer) today at Torrevieja and the 2nd one is on 2 June in Pilar (exactly 3 weeks). Very impressed with how efficient the centres are who are administering the vaccines and I truly never felt a thing
