...ney! I am now a resident and bank with Sabadell.
You get a good rate if you have your State Pension sent direct to your Spanish bank account. I have done this for years. Whatever day it is due to you in the UK then you should receive it into your Spanish account either the next working day or the one after that.

Morning Biff ,I think it depends on your circumstances and how much control you want over your money matters ,We bought in 2019 ,I was already receiving state pension ,but decided whether residency or not that I would keep my pension in UK ,that way I decide when to transfer money into Spain and I get same amount every week in Sterling no matter exchange rate ,Golandrina states you get a good rate when pension is paid directly into Spanish bank, I cant confirm or refute as dont do it .However due to advise from members on here I did open up a Transferwise account and am very happy with rate and charges to transfer euros into a Spanish bank and its showing in the Sabadell account within a couple of hours
