Hi all, I am hopefully travelling to Spain on 4 Feb to see family and I am not considered fully vaccinated as my second injection was more than 270 days before the travel date and I didn't have the booster yet.

I am British, however my father is Spanish and I believe there is a strict no entry policy for non EU residents who are not fully vaccinated after 1 Feb but there are exemptions if for example you are travelling to see immediate family.

Ibera were very unhelpful in providing me with guidance about this and im terrified that I will not be allowed to take the flight.

Has anyone else had this concern and what did you do if anything?  Im taking my birth certificate with me.

Thanks.

According to this, it doesn't appear you will be able to come as you are not travelling with your father.
Happy to be proved wrong!

My understanding is that unless you have had the booster more than 14 days before you travel you wont be allowed in.

The list could change again on the 1st Feb but there is an exemption list for family members, however you have to look to EU rules to see what this means.

It looks as though a family member is classed as an unmarried partner, and you have to have proof, such as a joint bank account or house deeds etc.

Or a dependent relative under the age of 21  showing proof of relationship and documentation detailing reason of visit.  Although it doesn’t state it, I would suspect that unless your documentation is also in Spanish, you would have difficulties with border control in Spain. Also you have the chance of being refused to fly in the U.K.  by someone not being aware of the exemption rules

Further information on the link below but it’s a fairly old document and it may have been updated.

I think you would be best getting in touch with the Spanish consulate and obtaining authority in writing from them.

Hello

Ive just read something similar to the  link Cheryl posted which  included these words  about possible exemptions,

Requirements for entering Spain if you are travelling from outside the EU/EEA

h) Persons travelling for duly accredited imperative family reasons.

I think the interpretation of that will be down to the Border Force officer on the day

Cheers

No problem at all.

Rules in simple terms state that if your last vaccine of your full dose ie 1/1 or 2/2 was more than 270 days ago, then you will need a booster to gain entry to Spain.

There is also a separate rule for residents, whereas you could take an antigen test to enter, but as you’ve had your booster, don’t worry too much about that.

Lynn is correct you must have a 1 version dose or the 2 dose jab to be considered fully vaccinated, but you have to have a booster jab if your previous jab 1/1 or 2/2 is over 270 days ago and the booster must have been done 14 days before you travel. The problem is rules get changed, but if the rule is in place you must abide by it, or you won't get in. Residents are another matter.

I suggest you take an antigen test within 48 hours of your flight just to be on the safe side.

You shouldn’t have any issues with that and your status.
