Kim what in earth are you going on about now? I have not got angry with you, my repies made perfect sense and you still haven't told me your grievance about NI contributions? Surely it cannot be that hard when I've now asked you twice before about your NI comment.
You certainly don't need to apologise for other people's ignorance and I have nothing 'to let go'. I am happy with the referendum outcome and look forward to a brighter future with out being bullied by the EU.
No one, not you, not me not even the politician's or the EU know what is going to happen yet it seems that most people who voted to remain have their own crystal ball and know it all. I actually find it quite amusing to be honest. I'm glad I'm not so stressed about what might happen like you are. Relax Kim, all your worries may be in vain and just think, you might not have anything to moan and be unhappy about. How lovely would that be for all the remoaners, imagine how much more time they would have to enjoy life now because tomorrow is never promised.
Stay positive Kim and I really hope you can over come your fears of change.

Hello, hello, hello
Oh dear, I seem to have opened up right old can of worms here.
But no, of course people aren't always going to agree on everything, it's important that all opinions are aired and heard. As I said in my original post, I don't have an agenda, I want to hear from everyone, Remainers, Brexiters, Inbetweeners...
What is clear from your responses it that the subject - expats Brits in Europe and Brexit - is incredibly important, to you individually, to you as a community, to us as a nation.
I am planning an article, coming out to Spain if I can persuade my editor to cough up for the (Ryan) airfare. I shouldn't put my contact details here, but I'll send some of you - with differing views - private messages to ask if you'll talk to me.
Mainly, thank you all so much for responding, it has been incredibly useful as well as very enlightening.
Very best wishes
Sam

You know Sam I have never insulted anyone for voting to remain yet I have been verbally abused by so many who voted remain. I have been accused of being racist, bigot, uneducated, stupid etc by people who have never even asked me my reasons for voting out. Just earlier a guy on here called MikeB called 52 million people 'mentally challenged'. It's really sad to see this as the vote was completely legal so the abuse really is unnecessary. It's such a shame that people are acting like this just because the vote didn't go their way. I really hope it all settles down eventually and we can unite in a brighter future.

Oh Kim what are you like lol
Those are not insults, being called rascist, fascist, bigot, stupid, uneducated etc - now they are insults.
1. It is a fact that newspapers often lie and twist the truth so NO INSULT THERE
2. The word 'remoaner' is used because many remain voter's moan alot about Brexit so thats the truth = NO INSULT THERE
3. You did leave Britain so thats the truth = NO INSULT THERE
4. MikeB labelled everyone who voted leave as 'mentally challenged' which is a huge insult to 52 million people so my retaliation insult is completely justified.
5. My words to you was 'as you don't live in the Uk anymore you have NO IDEA what it's like' which is the truth so NO INSULT THERE
6. Where have I been aggressive because it certainly isn't in anything you listed in your message??
7. You are all obviously panicking so that's the truth so NO INSULT THERE
8. I have not judge anyone for voting to remain so why do I need to concede the remain vote?
9. It was MikeB on the COSTA forum who insulted myself and 52 million people. If you read my comments correctly my words were 'I have been verbally abused by so many people who voted remain' There was no mention that it was on this Forum other than MikeB insult.

Sam,
As you can probably see by Kim's verbal attack on me, this is a very common occurrence from people who voted to remain unfortunately.
Let's hope it will stop sometime soon.

Please, everyone, calm down. Everyone has an opinion, but there's no reason for sensible people to get so excited. The discussion isn't going anywhere. Show a bit of dignity and stop having a go at one another.

As someone who already has a place in Spain and who is moving over permanently in Jan for work, I am frankly amazed at some of the replies on this thread.
Last year I spoke with a guy based in Quesada who voted Leave & couldn't wait for the UK to leave the EU and I was genuinely stunned at his logic.
I fear that a lot of long-term British economic migrants to Spain (and that's what we are, like it or not - we're not "ex-pats," we're economic migrants) have a very strange view of our role & position within the EU.
Without the EU's four freedoms, it would be a damned site more difficult for us Brits to up sticks & relocate to Spain relatively hassle free. And as thing stand, that ends next March.
The guy in Quesada spoke of "project fear" and "mainstream media bias" against leavers but trust me as someone who still lives in the UK, it ain't going to be pretty and it's going to get a lot worse
The tone coming out of the Tory party at the moment is very hostile towards the EU and the prospect of a "no deal Brexit" is very, very real.
And if that happens, those of you crowing about leaving the EU may be in for a rude awakening, Residencia or not. The government's own impact assessments indicate that there is a very real possibility that reciprocal arrangements on foreign nationals living in EU countries may come to an end. So yes, you may well wind up being asked to leave Spain. Spain can't offer a unilateral deal to British economic migrants (and that's what we are; we're not "ex-pats", we're economic migrants just the same as the Poles & Romanians who move to the UK are) as any rulings need to be ratified by all 27 nation states, so the "they need our cash" argument is rendered moot because it's simply impossible for Spain to negotiate directly with the UK.
It amazes me that anyone living in Spain can still be so cavalier / ignorant about the implications of their actions.
It really is a case of turkeys voting for Christmas and, judging from some of the pro-Leave replies on this thread, a few of you are in for a very big shock come next April.
