Rather than people posting opinions, why not read the guidance relating to England:

Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance and support - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Yes George, a fact, not an opinion. I tried posting with the wording from the .gov website, but it didn't accept the text for some reason.

The facts are on the link I provided. Criticise ministers or whomever, but the guidance is there for you to read.

I didn't quote anyone in my previous reply - it was simply a generic reponse providing the link to the guidance as that seemed to be what was needed.

Hi

Hotel confinement/quarantine is for non UK residents or citizens from the red list countries. UK residents and citizens will need  only to quarantine in the safety of their own homes.  So your friends will better off complying with the regulations without the fear of fines or in the fut...

On the plus side they will get their vaccines a lot quicker in the UK.

Vivienne

If you  return to the UK you still have to quarantine  for 10 days and some people have to go straight to a hotel then get a 1500 pound bill
