I am finding the media reporting, specifically El Pais in English, of the de-escalation timetable a little confusing. Can anyone confirm when I will be able to drive to the supermarket with a neighbour accompanying me, as long as she is in the back seat and we both wear masks? One report suggests we can do it now, another says starting 11 May.

Hi. You may have read this:

https://english.elpais.com/society/2020-05-01/social-life-under-spains-deescalation-plan-when-can-i-expect-to-visit-family-and-friends.html

In view of the ongoing  relaxation, tomorrow with congress involved, (Wed 6th) may reveal more "tweaks" due to discussions in the extended situation or clarify a little more.

With the government seemingly changing its mind every other day it's hardly surprising that the people are confused!

I agree with you in the main, it is confusing, but the government seemingly tweaking things every 5 minutes I find acceptable in the circumstances. There must be so many things which I can't even begin to understand that they are having to deal with "on the hoof". In the example of bars etc being able to operate at 30% capacity being changed to 50% hopefully means that the government are listening to businesses and experts and reacting quickly in an effort to get things working as soon as possible and as safely as possible.

That´s good & clarifies. But be aware tomorrow.

"What if Spain’s state of alarm comes to an end on May 9?If PM Pedro Sánchez does not secure congressional approval to extend the extraordinary measure on Wednesday, experts say confinement orders will no longer be legally binding."

 Let´s hope sense prevails.

Agreed, but it must be noted that some of the free newspapers that have Facebook pages or publish Online are sometimes unreliable as a source of accurate information, much better to check Official Government sites and reliable press like El Pais and provide links to those sources.
