Times and distance

Can anyone give us a proper time and distance between Pego and Alicante airport. Every time we ask, we are given a different time ranging from one and a quarter hours to four hours.

According to google maps, it is 1 hour 13 via toll roads and 1 hour 40 avoiding some of them.
Michelin guides state roughly same times with toll costs ranging from €11.75 to €18.42 each way depending on route taken.
Estate agents on Kyero rarely mention the distance to the airport, only the closeness to beaches, hospital, schools and golf so I guess it's not much of a selling point. One I did find said 1 hour to both Alicante and Valencia!

I live in Beniarbeig, a short distance south of Pego. Add 15 minutes to the times I quote below to allow for Pego. Times quoted are for the airport, not Alicante city.

It depends when you go and which route.

AP-7 Beniarbeig (Ondara toll) to Alicante usually about 1hr 15. Depends how fast you drive, but no more than 1hr 30

N332 Beniarbeig to Alicante. The quickest you can do this from Beniarbeig is 1hr 30.

You go through several areas where you can be held up and there are several sections that can be slow if you're stuck behind a lorry. Normally I do it in 1hr 30 but once it took me 2 hours 15 as every delay possible, I got! So from Pego you should be able to do it in under 2 hours.
