A visit to Petrer and Elda - Page 2

Hi Maria: the trip via Dublin was uneventful, we had our paperwork in order with letters from our Spanish legal and banking people showing evidence of our reasons for travelling. We encountered no difficulties on either side. We took responsibility for our own health and safety. We completed all the NIEs, legal and banking tasks and met with a couple from the forum which was lovely. We have an offer in on an apartment in Petrer: fingers crossed that it will happen 🤞. Hi Kathy and Mark , sorry to but in in your conversation ,but I live very close to you by thedescription you’ve given , ..I live in an old townhouse just round the corner from ayumiento , but Maybe I have , or maybe I haven’t seen you about ,nor heard any English speakers , apart from the tourists , I’ve lived here 5 years and never come across you ....either that or you know of me and have seen me coming , and run for cover ñ😀

I recall speaking on the forum with you previously, it is nice to hear from you.  Matt and I have begun moving into our new home in Petrer, we are currently travelling between the Irish Republic and Petrer, with next March/APRIL being our date to live here permanently.  We also live very close to the town hall, on Calle Sancho Tello.

We have had the great pleasure in meeting up with Mark and Kathy on this and our previous visit; we sadly return to Ireland tomorrow and are not due to return until early January with our remaining possessions.

We would be delighted to meet up with you also when we return in January, if this is agreeable to you?

Kathy and Mark are the loveliest of people and have made us feel most welcome as new residents to Petrer.

Hi Martin and Matt , I am meeting up with Kathy and Mark on Friday next week for a coffee ,and a natter . I will meet you in  February when you come over and meet you too . l

In the meantime learn Spanish ,as there are very few people locally who speak English ,and that is a problem I have as my spanish is not good . 

So learn as much as you can ..Spanish with Paul on you tube ,is very good ,but I don’t watch as much as I should
