Thinking of permanent move from belgium to spain. Pinar de campoverde looks nice with decent acces to nearby towns such as pilar de horadada. Any info regarding population mix, and eventual legal issues with regard to housing on campoverde would be welcome. A big issue for us is also moving our family pet with us ( Cat). I am from british origin but have lived in belgium for 40 years. A mix of international and spanish populations would thus be nice. Any info or adivice would be welcome. We are looking to visit the area this year.
In case you may have heard or been told differently, if you are a UK passport holder then despite your time in Belgium to move to Spain you will have to apply for a visa from the Spanish consulate in Belgium.
Your cat is no problem at all, simply bring it with you along with all your other possessions.

Thank Darro, I have been a Belgian citizen for many years so brexit is not an issue. Do you have any info regarding the make up of the population in Pinar de Campoverde? My wife and I are both 65 and pensioners. Moving to a new country is exiting but also daunting, the presence of expat residents could help us find support and social contacts while intergrating for the long term. We would prefer a majority spanish area with an expat presence. Thanks for your previous reply. All advice and info is welcome.

Pinar De Campoverde comes under the municipality of Pilar De La Horadada, along with Mil Palmeras, Torre De La Horadada and Higuericas (also part of El Mojón). Information about the general population, demographics etc. is available on the Ayuntamiento De Pilar De La Horadada website.

Likely you'll be very happy here
The population is very mixed, several of the european nationalities very well represented
Pilar De La Horadada is a lovely town imo, very Spanish despite being quite bustling with plenty of Fiesta activity going on, access to our local beaches is <15 minutes by car from PdC.
Houses here are of varying styles, some older larger villas plus more ‘normal’ 3 bed urb types. The village has an upper portion running alongside the main street and centre which borders a large protected nature reserve with the Rio Seco, the lower portion is somewhat different and more compact. Overall it is well cared for by the council, within one hour drive to the cities of Alicante, Murcia and Cartagena plus therefore easy access to two international airports; as a result house prices are ‘strong’ and properties don't stay on the market for too long.
If you want to send me a private message then I will try and help with any further specific questions you may have 👍 We like it here.

Hi
I don't know PDC terribly well, but if by "decent access" you mean public transport then I suggest you research thoroughly. My guess is that public transport is close to non-existent!
If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me!
Cheers
Steve

Thanks Steve. I anticipated this would be the case with regards to public trabsport. My main concern is with acces to services and fascilities (healthcare, recreation, social gatherings, shopping etc), many of which I have found to be present in the wider area of pilar de horadada. Thanks again for your post.

Pinar de Campoverde is a village set on a wooded hillside, 8 kms inland on the Costa Blanca, with views to the Mediterranean. There are about 3000 houses on the urbanisation, populated mainly by Spanish, English, German, Belgian and Dutch residents.
To the east of the village is the famous Rio Seco Natural Park where you can walk along the (usually dry!) bed of the river. There is a spectacular gorge carved by the waters over millennia through the yellow sandstone.
Pinar de Campoverde enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, very hot in summer and protection by surrounding mountains against the cold north winds in winter. The area averages nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine each year and the average temperature easily exceeds 20 degrees.
The local town of Pilar de la Horadada is very active all year round. Lots going on, to see, to experience, and unlike some other places, does not close down in the winter months.
The Campoverde Vecinos association exists to help the local residents, to be a conduit to the local Town Hall and to encourage local integration.
May I suggest the following web sites for more information:
www.campoverdevecinos.org
www.torredelahoradada.eu
www.facebook.com/phoradada
Local estate agents:
www.inmocaballero.com
www.oakwoodproperties.com
www.regalcampoverde.com
Of course, when you arrive, do pop in on a Wednesday morning and see us.... Introduce yourselves and have a chat.
Full details, including info concerning the health center, bus timetable, clubs and societies, etc... are on the website http://www.campoverdevecinos.org
Regards
