Certificate to fly testing return to Uk
Do children ages 8,11,13 need to have an antigen test with “certificate to fly” for returning to UK.
For the Day 2 test back in UK do the same age children also have to arrange a test.

Hi Alan,
It depends on which country you started your journey and to which country you're returning. I'm assuming that you're travelling from Spain and returning to England, in which case these are the rules from the Gov.UK website:
"Travelling with children
There are different age limits for children for the different COVID-19 travel tests:
Read more about testing and quarantine for children. "
So your 8 year old doesn't need the "fit to fly" test, but they all need the Day 2 test.
Kind regards,
Kim

We have just returned to UK yesterday after 10 days in Spain.
Kids 5,7,9,11 years old.
11 year old and all adults had to have fit to fly test s and then all have had to have day 2 tests booked for return.
Flew with Ryanair and booked fit to fly with IMED in Spain €40 and Randox on return £43 with the discount code FLYRYANAIR.

Yep, I’ve travelled with a 13 year old and I needed a PCR test for him prior to leaving England. (With Boots at £85, but got results back in 13 hours). Also needed the antigen test in Spain, and a Day2 test booked for when back in England.
Frustrating thing is the PCR test for him wasn’t checked either at Liverpool airport or Alicante! And the antigen tests (for all 6 of us) were only given a cursory glance at check in. It’s all just a bloody money making exercise…grrrrr

Thank you all for your responses. I’m sorted
Have to concur about the reasoning for the return tests combined with the total expense and hassle/frustration. Spain is so very welcoming with minimum hassle but the UK require so much more. You would almost think there’s a conspiracy between UK Gov and the testing regime.
