If you use any of the above it would be appreciated if you mention where you got the recommendation. We haven't decided who yet but it's likely to be Scornik.

Keep in touch with your progress. We are holding fire until travel restrictions are lifted etc.

Stay safe.

Hi I have now been in email contact with Andreas at Scornik and to be honest was not impressed. After fully explaining my situation ( UK cit married to Irish cit) he offered to process an application for a non lucrative visa, along with its requirements of health insurance police certification and financial requirements .i said that I believed I would be eligible for a free EU family visa but he said he had never heard of this and again steered me towards a NLV

I asked for a telephone call to discuss further but recieved a very curt reply saying that I needed to send £1800 before they would advise me

So am now looking at others who may be able to assist

Oh no. I'm so sorry,  I did not speak with Andreas I corresponded with Antonio Arenas and Beatriz Leiva. Antonio is a partner in the firm and couldn't have been more helpful and courteous.

I would definitely try Pina at Artemis.

Please do let me know how you get on and if you find someone else who you believe is more suitable.

It's always tricky with recommendations.

I'm a little confused here. I will admit I haven't read all of the documents and all of the links they provide and will try to make time for that tomorrow.

Has something dramatically changed?

Up until now it has been implied that a UK national could travel to Spain (post Covid etc) and during the first 90 days apply for Residency. If the application was granted there would be no need to return to the UK within the 90 day period. Has this changed?

If it hasn't changed, what has?

Is it simply that if you want to stay for longer than 90 days without an application for Residency you can do so but must apply for the NLV to comply?

Hopefully someone can spell it out!

Steve

So how do you apply for NVL and what cost is involved

Thanks

Terry

You have to apply in your country of origin, for me UK. The application is filed with the Spanish Consulate in London.

Visa fee per applicant £516

Legal fees (recommended) range from £1200 for 2 applicants.

If you click on non Lucrative Visa residency.. all info regarding criteria, documents etc can be found here.

Hope this helps

Hi I have now made an appointment with blsvisaspain on Wednesday 17 to apply for a free EU/EAA family visa although there is a charge for processing  will keep you posted !

The only problem I can foresee it asks for departure dates and ferry /air ticket details which I obviously can’t submit

The initial visa lasts 1 year, you then need to apply again for a 2 year visa then a further 2 years after which entitles you to apply for full residency.

Great news. Are they specialists in the EU/EAA visa or do they also deal with Non Lucrative Visas?
