We have never been to Pinar De Campoverde before, is it a quiet village/town.

Is it hilly as my husband cannot walk up hill and needs responsible pathways.

We are looking for a quiet place away from the tourists but have amenities in the area and bus route to get to the tourist area should we feel like it.

Any information would be appreciated.

If this isn't the area that will suit us, does anyone have any recommendations.

Thanks in advance

Hi

I don't know it well, but have driven through on a number of occasions and I'd say it is a quiet place and rather hilly in general. Bus service appears to be very limited https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinar_de_Campoverde and https://pinardecampoverde.com/local-info-eng.html

Hopefully someone with better local knowledge will comment soon!

Cheers

Steve

Pinar de Campoverde is mostly flat. You can buy a nice house and walk to all amenities. It’s a very friendly village with a lot going on.

I live in Campoverde and it is quite quiet.  There is a small supermarket, two chemists and several restaurantes but if you need a bigger supermarket the nearest is about 15 minutes by car, but 25 minutes to others.  There is an extremely limited bus service that will take you to Pilar de la Horedada, but probably only one a day going and one coming back leaving little time there.  It is good to have a car.

We are couple in our 70's looking for a quiet area of Costa Blanca which is not on the Mar Menor with the amenities close by and on a bus route would be a bonus.  Have you found anywhere suitable on your travels

Have a think about what you mean by "quiet".

We live in Playa Flamenca, very close to La Zenia Boulevard, which is a major attraction to both localish Spanish and expats, as are the beaches. The approach roads are very busy, but we live in a gated community just a ten minutes walk away. Our house is very tranquil barring just a few weeks per year when Spanish families arrive to get away from the heat in Madrid (primarily). Be aware that the Spanish are very noisy by nature! (That's not racist in any way, just an accepted fact).

All amenities are within walking distance, and the area is flat. Public health centres and hospital can be reached by bus/taxi at minimal cost.

Bars and restaurants are open all year round.

Hope I've helped!

Cheers

Steve

Many thanks for your reply. Someone has recommended Pilar De La Horadada, further south of Costa Blanca, do you know anything about that area.

lol - none of the Costa Blanca is on the Mar Menor, so that won’t be a problem for you.

The Mar Menor is in Murcia and not Comunidad Valencia. The Costa Calida is a beautiful area, much quieter than further up the coast and of course if you purchased a property in that area you’d have the benefit of a lower property tax.

Please be careful when looking for quiet areas  as  it depends on your definition of quiet, but some areas are so quiet that bars restaurants, even supermarkets close out of season.  You need an area with a bit of a buzz to enable you to make friends, join groups etc. If you choose an area off the tourist track, you’ll also need to be more fluent in Spanish
