Hi all,

After some advice off anyone that has recently gone through a residency interview at Alicante (Calle de la Ebanisteria)

We are a married couple, no dependants, both 50, living off one police pension.

We have private medical care, completed a EX18 each and hopefully sufficient income from the pension.

We don't speak Spanish so do we need to take an interpreter wish us or do they speak English at this office?

Are Spanish bank statements (3 months worth)  sufficient to prove income ?

Other than the padron did they require any other documentation? And if so did it need to be translated?

I know there is lots of information on the forum but hopefully someone that has just gone through this process can assist with above.

Thanks

Phil

Don't forget to make an appointment.

As well as what you've said, you'll need passports and copies, photographs, and proof of payment of the fee.

Has your PHI provider supplied you with a certificate stating that the insurance complies with residencia requirements? i.e. covers pre-existing conditions, and no co-payments.

Thanks Jim,

Appreciate the reply. Yes weve made an appointment. Will gets photos etc sorted. Forgot about the fee so will arrange that tomorrow.

The PHI supplier is supplying a residency certificate , but exclusion of pre existing conditions may be an issue..I will have to check that.

Thanks again

Phil

We have recently gone through the residency process.  We live in Campoverde.  Our first appointment was arranged via our solicitor and was in Torrevieja.  Our documentation with regards the padrón was not accepted - the reason for this:  we had a padrón each and they said that they required a single document (a collective padrón) which listed everyone that lived at our address - just me and my partner!  They also said that it required the rubber stamp of the town hall.  We have since found out from Jose at the Campoverde office that a rubber stamp is not required on the document because it has a barcode!

We have since obtained our residency, having done this ourselves at the Playa Flamenca Town hall and they were so much more helpful and amenable than the Torrevieja office.  We took both individual and collective pardons with us just to cover ourselves and both were accepted.

Hope this is helpful to you!
