Thought you might like to see the difference between my water bill here and the UK,both for 12 cu mtr. The Uk is 6 months, here 3 months which makes my Spanish bill 5 times more than the UK.

Annual UK rainfall @ 885 mm, annual Costa Blanca rainfall 300 mm. Annual hours of sun UK (London) 1481, Spain, 2974. Council tax much lower, food and drink cheaper. Total annual crimes in UK 6.52 million, Spain 923,271.

I am sat on my outside terrace, my daughter in UK is snowed in. I have a much better quality of life here, happier and healthier, so am happy to pay more for electric because I pay so much less for many other things. I can´t compare water as I´m on agricultural water which is very cheap, as is bottled drinking water.

I paid a pittance for my property and have 3000 m2 of land from which the views are stunning. We have oranges, lemons, pomegranate, quince, almonds, grape vines, olives, cherries, apples, walnut and mango growing and have free-range chickens. I also have a swimming pool.

I really think we need to concentrate on the positives which far outweigh the negatives for me.

I agree, well said Cheryl.

I've no idea what UK prices are, but bear in mind that your Spanish bill includes refuse collection, which in the UK would be part of your horrendous council charges.

Our last bill was €85 for 20 cubic metres, including refuse collection.

Well said! I spend time in Spain and enjoy it but not to live. The food in supermarkets in the U.K. is the same or cheaper than Spain. Somethings are more expensive others cheaper ‘

Income tax is quite a bit more in Spain

All in all it’s up to individuals but I love the green fields and countryside of Blighty?

Green does mean rain of course,!

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and aren’t we lucky to have choices!?
