A  very typical and hypocritical rant from the type of person that enjoys the Spanish climate for a holiday home but spends all his time putting the country down.

And someone who obviously has no clue that women generally outlive husbands in the UK also.

2 bar meals for £8.95.... hahaha guess you're in Wetherspoons with the other foreigner haters.

And someone who buys a leaf blower in Aldi surely can't be taken seriously!

Why is he a hypocrite?

It is his opinion. Which he is entitled to. He has the money to spend what time he wants in what country he wishes to.

I agree with everything he says. As is my right.

I can see both points. Some are not "just" here for "sun, cheap booze, etc ....etc) other´s actually interact......then it starts to work.... I believe.

It would be great if the passport scanners at Alicante could beep when a thick arrogant Spain-hating Brit arrives. An immigration officer could come out and put them on the next plane back to the once great Britain.

Hi Cathie, yes, he's entitled to his opinion.

But I do think if you have a holiday home here and relentlessly slag off Spain, then yes, it is a bit hypocritical.

Terry reminds me of a neighbour who's a bit similar. He constantly criticises the Spanish for being difficult. But on further information turns out he got a fine for building on the Campo without permission. He kept a car on UK plates for 4 years while complaining about immigrants to the UK bending the system! He complains about Spain this Spain that. He imported hinges from England saying he couldn't find decent hinges in Spain. I said to him "have you seen the size of some of the doors here?!" He doesn't like the Spanish (in fact he spells it Spainish) but he's quite happy to lap up the sun here while complaining that his beloved England is superior. Ironically he voted for Brexit and is now going to have to watch carefully how often he visits Spain.

So, yes I think there's quite a bit of hypocrisy going on. As to Terry, I think he just likes a bit of attention.

As to being pro Spanish I don't think any Brits living here permanently have their eyes closed to problems, but when you adopt a country as your new country of residence most sensible people embrace it, warts and all. Some of us, maybe most of us, come to love it for good and bad.

It started out as a good thread about a water bill and you proceeded to issue the rant above, nothing to do with water charges at all - copied for you again in case you forgot. A rant in which it was you being rude about Spain, low Spanish crime rates, Spanish food, Spanish cost of living, Spanish electricity, British widows, Spanish bakers etc etc. I'm not rude, I just have little patience when it comes to gammon attention seekers. Don't worry, I'm sure this thread is heading to the basement fairly soon!
