And someone who obviously has no clue that women generally outlive husbands in the UK also.

In UK most "minor crimes" go unrecorded, or even unreported as people know nothing will be done to catch the perpetrators.

Burgled? Ring for a crime number? Car stolen? Ditto. I work in the Emergency Services & witness first hand the lack of Police on the frontline, how stretched they are & how little they are respected by vast swathes of the community. Kids know they can be repeat offenders with little consequence.

In Spain I've never witnessed anti-social behaviour &, from what I've seen on TV, I wouldn't want to get stroppy with a Spanish Copper!

AS for getting Beer for £1.50 a pint & fish & chips for £2.49....last had that 10 years ago. Average price for beer is about £3 a pint & even pensioner portion Fish & chips is over £5, with a normal sized portion North of £8.....and that's top North :-)
