Like last Saturday we and a lot of Spain had no electricity, so no aircon for pretty much an hour.
It was France that caused the electricity problem not being able to supply Spain.

Ubeda is in Andalucia. Things are different there. And as someone has said, this really is a first world problem.
Hi Janice,
That was my immediate thought too, not least because we stayed in Ubeda to break up a trip to Cordoba a couple of years ago. However, I've since discovered there's another Ubeda in Alicante Province, in the municipality of Pinoso, so I'm assuming that's the one where Andy lives? 🤔
Kind regards,
Kim

The answer, I am afraid, is a deposito, however inconvenient. As you know, we are miles out in the campo, at the end of the supply line. We go through this every summer, my neighbour rang this morning to say no supplies, Again. But with a deposito, we are to an extent protected against interruptions, it has to go on for quite a long time before we are seriously affected.

Thank you Kimmy. Never knew that. If it is that Ubeda I think it would have been more logical to tell us that.
Population is 146 persons.
Less that in the road I live in, and it wouldn't occur to me to only give that name.
All the best, Janice

Hi Andy and welcome to the forum!
Has Spain ever sent a mission to Mars? 🤔😉

As aggravating as water shortages are, they are a way of life in Spain; if you live in the campo, even more so. I remember, when my out-laws moved here 20 years ago, that they were a weekly occurrence - and the frequency of electricity cuts was even worse.
Are you signed up to your water company's online service? You may be missing out on advance notice of, for example, maintenence work that necessitates an outage. On the rare occasions this happens to us, we're advised how long the outage will be and it's always shorter than the water company's estimate.
Kind regards,
Kim
Hi, there were two burst pipes this week in Ubeda which caused the water shortage, but we have been here almost 20 years in same village and can count on one hand number of times its gone off, you are unlucky, dont know why you keep having problems, maybe its all the new houses going up around you, and there isnt enough supply
