Adam, here are the contact details of the specialist insurers.

Incidentally, the agent with whom we were dealing stated that they had many clients with the same problems and reasons for non-acceptance.

As far as I am aware the convenio Especial may not be applied for until you have been legally resident for a year

Well, hope that’s right!!! The usual situation is that if under pension age, one has to provide a year’s PHI paid in full in advance and only after that may one apply for Convenio. The situation may differ if over pension age?

As I understand it once I am resident for one year I can join the Convenio Especial for healthcare requirements which means that I will only have  to pay 12 months PHI at a horrendous rate but so be it thats just another necessary expense. I

am registered on the Padron at my house in Encebras but still in the uk sorting some business out before I can move over full time. The last piece of the jigsaw is the health cover then my TIE application can go in before the deadline

Thank you for all your help.

Adam

I have bought a years cover I am a fair was from a state pension  yet 10 years or so assuming that they do raise the age yet again. Once I have been here a year I will switch to the Comvenio as it is half the costs of PHI

Has anybody had any experience of getting a non co-pay health insurance policy with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure as co-dependencies

I am applying for a TIE card and have the financial information sorted but have been turned down flat by DKV for a health insurance policy. I have a UK private health policy that I have had for 20 years and my health issues are controlled with medication...

...

If any has had a similar experience or knows of an insurer who accepts this sort of health issue I would be grateful to hear from you as time is marching on.

Thanks

Adam

Adam - if the ones suggested above don't work through, and Angbadge plus others do know their stuff, try Salus? We went with them. I have a pre-existing on blood pressure. They will not cover you for that and exclude it, but they will insure you and that worked for the TIE. Just not the basic package, has to be the premium one.

Kind regards,

Dave
