We live close to Canada del Trigo and we have almost no water. It is cut off by 10am everyday and comes back by 2-3 after midnight.

The issue started in summer. We were told that farmers used up all water for watering. But before we went abroad in September we saw workers putting a new water pipe along the road. So we expected the problem solved. Nay! Now we've come back to Spain and it's even worse. They cut off water even on Sunday! I don't believe farmers using water for watering now in December when it drizzles sometimes.

I have no English-speaking neighbours. Does anybody experience the same? Can you offer a piece of advice?

Will we enjoy Christmas without water?   :-(

Hello

Maybe you should start by talking to your agua supplier.  .....

S.A.T. 3481 Aguas de PinosoAddress: C. Sagasta, 1, 03650 Pinoso, AlicanteHours: Closed ⋅ Opens 4:30 PMPhone965 47 70 30This is the one I found but if  not & you  have different info. then go  in and have a conversation - it works better than emails etc.Whoever gave you the first info - re the farmers, are the people who can explain further
.Cheers     Elinspain

JeanI assume you have a home in the campo. Are you on a drinking “potable” water system? Normally farmers would use agricultural water on the fields so this should not interfere with with a drinking water supply. As  Elinspain says your first point of contact should be the water company supplying your area.

Just a thought but you could maybe contact the agent or your solicitor for help if you did not purchase too long ago. At least they should know who they contracted for your water supply.

Hello. I presume this property has been a holiday home/not much used in the past. I may be wrong however you live near to Pinoso? Most farmers pay into a cooperate to have the use of Agricultural water for their farm/land/animals/crop use etc etc etc. This is not drinking water, you could drink it however its not treated, not recommended. I would think you are on mains water (now being treated) so best to look at your bill. Thus there are two separate supplies of water in Spain. No the farmers do not use all the water hence you having none.  If it were me I would take a look at your water meter. There should be a valve before the meter to close the water off. If so remove the water meter. Turn the valve open to see the supply of water. That will determine many factors. The water meter is prob blocked with a calcium buildup over the years restricting water flow. Depending on the ambulant outside temperate this will alter many internal features within the water meter including paddle moment and water blockage. It could also be dirt in the pipe, (New pipe you presume was fitted in the road in the summer) leading to the valve before the water meter). If the meter is removed and the valve opened it should allow the dirt if any in the pipe to be released then close the valve back off again. Have a look at the inlet and outlet of the water meter, you will be able to see if the meter is blocked re; a white build up of calcium. If so put the water meter in a tub of sulphurman solution for an hour, then rinse out and re-assemble leaving the outlet side of the water meter disconnected. Turn the valve open and you should have decent water pressure. If your meter still has the anti tamper locking device fitted then don't touch the water meter as you may be prosecuted. Finally if you are not too sure just look at your bill, ring the number and explain that you think your water meter needs renewing as it's blocked due to calcium build up. To reiterate Agricultural water has nothing to do with mains water, two separate supplies,  two separate issues. My Regards, R.
