Hi All,

This is my first post on the forum.  We are currently in the process of buying a house in Pinoso and the house in question currently only has agricultural water as its supply as it is not connected to mains water.

I have conflicting information as to whether this water is safe to use (not drink) or not.  I understand it can be filtered to use for our appliances (washing machine, dishwasher, pool refill, etc) but I have been told that as the quality of the water is not good to start with I will burn through filters quickly.

I'm therefore looking at maybe getting a large water tank, filled with water, which I can then filter (if necessary) and use this for both appliances and for drinking water.

I have been searching on the internet for suppliers of water by tanker in the area but cannot find anyone.  I can only find companies who do not supply to Pinoso.

So I'm appealing to this forum to ask, does anyone have a water tank which they use as their main water supply and if so, do you know any companies local to Pinoso who can supply water via tanker?

Thank you in advance.

Darren

We are on agricultural water and have no problems with it whatsoever. We also use it for our pool.
We have a 5 micron and a carbon filter and use the water for everything but drinking. The water is hard wherever it comes from and  the only thing we use bottled water for is tea, coffee, squash and ice cubes.
No dodgy bellies and no ear infections from the pool in 5 years.

Once there was damage to the channels further up the line and we had to have some delivered and although I can't remember exactly how much it cost it was enough to make me determined to never buy it again, even with the cost of filters taken into account.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

Are you also based in Pinoso?

So I understand you correctly.  Do you have agricultural water which you feed through a filter system to power your appliances & showers/baths, etc?

Do you know how much you pay for filters and how regularly you change them?  Also, do you have the name of the company you use?

We would much prefer this option but thought it was a no-go!

Thanks

Darren

I'm in Albatera and yes, we have everything pumped from the store to the house and also run bottled gas central heating via a combi boiler, all on filtered agricultural water..
We get the filters from Leroy Merlin and my husband thinks they cost about €11-15 each and he changes them every 2 to 3 months. We pay €16 for 30 minutes of water which tops up the store and the pool and then floods the orchard. We get it once a month in high summer and once every 2 or 3 months the rest of the year.
If we were offered mains water we would refuse it.
