I am no expert, but I recently "retired" a Windows 8 Laptop and bought a Windows 10 laptop. One big difference is the amount of storage needed by Windows 10.
The brand new Windows 10 laptop did an upgrade on day 2. On day 3 all I had on it was Windows 10 and MS Office, and there was over 30GB on storage used up.
So before you press the button to accept a Win10 upgrade, check your storage space.
In buying the Win10 laptop, I visited 2 "big brand" retailers in the UK. They both told me the same story .... you can walk into any shop in the UK and buy a brand new Win10 laptop (quite cheaply) with 32GB storage. The machine will fill up and fall over within a year, just from Windows updates.
