Hi,

I'm travelling back to UK this week and am reading the UK governments webpage on entry back from Spain.  Is it correct that we DO NOT need a PCR/ Antigen test in Spain and only a Day 2 test on arrival home.

Many thanks

If the government web site says you don't need it, why ask on a forum where you are likely to get conflicting answers.

I'm just asking for clarification.  Gov website doesn't say its not needed, just doesn't mention it.

I'm at home trying to organise this for my elderly mother who is returning from Spain. She can hardly use a smart phone never mind the internet. I don't want to get this wrong.

Thanks for your comments, unhelpful as they were.

Hi,

yes you are correct, only a day 2 PCR test is needed when back in the UK. You need to book the test before you return and put the reference number in the UK passenger locator form. After October 24 the rules change in England to allow travellers to take the cheaper antigen test rather than a PCR test.

The above information is only for fully vaccinated people travelling to the U.K.

If not fully vaccinated different rules apply.( PLF, Fit to Fly Antigen, Day 2 PCR  Day 8 PCR,  10 days quarantine)

I returned to the Uk from Alicante airport just over 2 weeks ago. I bought a test through easy jet before I left the uk. in order to use the information on my UK passenger locator.(take the test when you return).

I was denied my flight home because I didn't have the vaccination download from the NHS app. I sorted this on my phone the next day and managed to have it paper printed. However when I returned to the airport(after shelling out for another flight) the person at the check in  simply shrugged her shoulders as if to say " so?". Soooo annoyed!!

She did want my UK passenger locator though!( this was NOT scannened when I landed in Bristol.

Flying at the moment is a bit if a hodge podge. just be prepared with both your UK passenger locator and NHS vaccination passport downloaded to your phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too many issues recently when it's downloaded to the phone.  Always best to print everything off.

We were held over 20 minutes by 1 couple taking up 2 desks and neither could find their documents on their phones!

Just yesterday I read that 2 young girls at Alicante could not get a signal on their phones to access the documents ( not sure if they got on the flight) and someone had had their phone stolen but luckily his wife had the printed docs.
