I used to enjoy this forum, I have received lots of fantastic advice and have even managed to give some advice back to others.

However, I find I don't visit the site much anymore as it full of articles from the "Euro Weekly News".

Just one persons opinion, but make your mind up whether you're a forum or a news website.

The opinions of others are interesting and helpful but if I want news I'll go to a news website.

Just sayin' 😁

Completely agree, it wouldn't be so bad if it were just the odd post her and there but sometimes it's whole pagefuls which just get scrolled through anyway.

It's very irritating and I wouldn't be surprised pretty inneffectual in raising revenue as the only potential value to a sponsor is a click on a link and a visit to their site.

The more militant might consider contacting the link sponsors to articulate their feelings and announce a positive boycott of their sites.

Just to push the point home something like 80% of the last 25 or so new  threads started have been these sh1tty and unrequested links.

Well done!

That's why I can't be bothered anymore, the site used to be about the members and their experiences both good and bad.

There must be costs involved running a forum as well as time spent so to an extent I understand but, it's ruined it for me.

That makes at least two of us. Whilst I do visit, I just scroll through and often do not get to the end of posts for that day. Thank you for speaking up.

After having written the above and continued to scroll through, today is one such day.

I have never seen anything related to Euro weekly news on here. Certainly nothing which affects my viewing of the forum. Maybe my ad/spam blocker configuration has something to do with that?

All these newspaper articles spoil my experience of the forum. I can find most of them myself, if was interested in reading them.

This was raised before, when Alex first started posting the links, and the general feeling seemed to be that you could scroll by if you weren't interested in the news posts.  I didn't mind them either, initially.  However, I agree that, recently, the quantity has become irritating and there's a danger of missing genuine enquiries from other members.

Kind regards,

Kim
