Be careful buying in Spain. It took a week to buy and then I sold 6 years later and nearly 2.5 years to get some (not all of money back) even the bank made off with some of my money.

Laws are so different there. I was flooded once and found that although I had building insurance it didn't cover things internally (bathrooms/kitchens etc) whereas UK does. Hence no contents-cost me thousands-I knew who was responsible for the flooding but didn't get anywhere with him, U.K bloke. If you don't get anywhere with person responsible you have to register with police and could take ages and ages to get money back.

If it were me I would rent.  Go back every year, twice, no hassle, not a lot of housework. Someone else's responsibility.

Also when renting out if you get somneone that intends squatting you'll be hard pressed to get them out. Judgement may be in your favour but no bailiffs etc. Keep taking them back to court. Judge says go and they take no note (don't have to)

All  I can say is better you than me.,  Good luck

P.S Punta Prima o.k (a little quiet) couple of good restaurants though. and nice beach.

Maybe we'll manage to meet up at some point x...

Hotel Monsa-Los balcones-nice hotel-good deals-excellent Chinese restaurant nearby and 2 good Spanish restaurants-excellent value. Not far from Punta Prima - 10 mins by car.

After much deliberation, we just couldn't decide between 2 areas the decision has been made and we have decided it has to be Punta Prima. It just has everything we want. It is such a relief to have finally decided lol. So as I think I might have mentioned before we have the flights and car hire b...

...ooked for 7-14 March, combining a trip over with my birthday, so need to get accommodation sorted. Anyone recommend somewhere in or very close to Punta Prima please ?

Also just wondering who you guys used for your estate agents ???

We have a lawyer in place.

Also any areas we should be looking to buy or avoid ????

Hi Tricia, we have a holiday apartment available close to Punta Prima.  It is a 10 minute walk to the Punta Prima roundabout.  It is on holidaylettings.co.uk.  ID no 318652.  We can do it cheaper if you book direct with me and not via website.

Good luck with your househunt.

Irene
