Good morning,

We are beginning the process of applying for Spanish residency with support from a solicitor and obviously need to provide proof of income. Naturally all our bank statements are in English. Would anyone know how to get these translated into Spanish? Could anyone share their experience in this matter? Many thanks in advance. All the best. Joh

Hello,

The law is clear, all the documents need to be officially translated into Spanish. It's true that many police stations understand that it doesn't make sense when we are talking about bank statements. As they only need to see your name and the numbers. But, others police stations as Torrevieja, will never accept documents in English.

So, the answer is depending where you go. Orihuela, they are really nice. I don't translate the statements when I'm coming to Orihuela. (This is my personal experience).

Hope this helps!

By the way, let me know if you need it, and I can put you in contact with a cheap translator.
