I’ve recently had my fingerprints scanned as part of the residency process and now have a Receipt Of Application Of Foreigner Card.

Does anybody have experience of leaving Spain after this part of the process and  before getting my TIE card. Am I allowed to leave or is permission required?

Obviously this is just to get an idea of what, if anything is required, professional advice would be taken if required.

Thanks

Hi John,

Many thanks for the reply.
This is were I’m getting a bit confused, and maybe should have expanded my question. My application was piggy backed off my wife’s E.U.registration, all the information that I’ve been able to find seems to refer to non E.U so not sure if there’s a difference.

Thanks again

I think you may find that even in the circumstances you describe it in fact does still apply to you.

While being married to an EU citizen does endow certain privileges, not limited by the 90 day rule for instance (so long as you are travelling together), in other respects you are still a non EU citizen which means to become legally resident you need to apply for a TIE like anyone else, that you are in that process would tend to reinforce that..

Morning Darro,

after John’s post last night, my wife and I were discussing this and came to a similar conclusion. Probably best to stay put until I get my card in six weeks.

Thanks for the reply
