Thanks Pedro, we are non resident, I take it this makes a difference. Just to let everyone know my 2 month bill consisted of approx €70 in service charges in a total of €82 !!!

That’s a lot of charges for two months I’m non resident too.

Why do some people get, or say, 2 months water bill? Ours have always been for 3 months and the last 3 monthly bill was 54.38 which is up nearly 20 euro on the previous quarter as they are recouping the sewerage and waste water collection charges they stopped charging for about 18 months or so ago.

But 2 months? Is that correct?

Hi Marcliff, my bill is definitely 2 months. 6 bills per year. Don’t know why some are 2 and some are 3.

Which is why I wonder what is happening. I've just checked my water bills and they are definitely every 3 months. Last bill was date 31/11/2023 and the one before that was 01/09/2023.

We live here permanently in a 3 bed house, no swimming pool but a walk in shower used daily, a garden irrigation system which is on once a day at the moment and twice a day in the Summer. Dishwasher used a couple of times a week, washing machine that seems to be on every other day at the moment.

Our last bill was 54.38 which included 19.90 extra for the waste water charge catch up. Previous one was the highest at 64.30 for the quarter which included 23 euro for the waste water catch up. Every other bill over the last two years has been around the 35 euro charge for a quarter.

So to see 82 euro for 2 months seems a bit excessive compared to our bills. Also have our neighbour here at the moment and he tells me his bills are comparable to mine. Hidraqua supplies both of us.

Seems rather a big difference in bills considering there's only about 12 km between us.

Hi Kenny

I am with Hidraqua. The service charges I pay are:

Water - 23.70

Conservacion contador - 3.99

Alcantarillado - 7.50

Canon Saneamiento - 11.21

In total 46.4 euros every 3 months

I hope this helps

Sue

It’s all a bit strange! I have copied Sue’s figures from her bill and put mine in the brackets after them and it makes even less sense(see below)

Water - 23.70 (25.76)

Conservacion contador - 3.99 (1.65)

Alcantarillado - 7.50 (3.30)

Canon Saneamiento - 11.21 (7.02 & 1.92 = 8.94)

In total 46.40 euros every 3 months (42.91 including 3.26 tax) but this is for 2 months!

Obviously the water usage varies but the other charges don’t round up to work out a liner rise from 2 months to 3 months. I have Canon Saneamiento on my bill twice for some reason. I am 80km away from you but should that make so much a difference?

Summary: they make it up as they go along! But in the grand scheme of things I still think it’s a reasonable price compared to the UK. My opinion.

Canon Sanamiento is on twice as that is the catch up of waste wate treatment which they didn't charge for for 18 months or so. The amount not taken due to the financial crisis and which they will be taking back over the next 18 months or so.

Thank you all for your input, I had contacted my solicitor who had set up my account. She phoned Hidraqua and she gave me an example of a “January” bill and it corresponded with mine. As the girl in the lawyers office said. “ I think we’re all in for a big shock”  😬 has anyone had a bill dated to January yet ?

Kenny
