UK Government advises PCR test when travelling to England from Spain and it's islands (4 Aug 2021) - Page 5

Good morning, Yes I sympathise with all people travelling including yourself, how ever there is a world wide pandemic which is putting restrictions on everyone, when you go back in October the rules might be different for all countries or there might be no rules at all, hopefully the latter.

 I do not have a crystal ball and neither does any government and you cannot blame your cancelled flights on them because of Covid, 

The government has warned all travellers that there could be changes to the traffic light system, these changes are governed by what is happening with covid and how it is being managed and that can only be managed by people taking responsibility for their own actions.

I can agree with you that the prices for all these tests are extortionate but if you want to travel unfortunately you have to pay, I believe the government are looking into the pricing.

You say greedy capitalists yes probably, but I believe you to be a capitalist and have worked hard for what you have achieved and I have too.

Can anyone tell me if I need to book the day 2 PCR test before I travel to Spain or can I book the test in Spain or do you need to prove the test has been paid for to get your QR code to enter spain before you leave the UK. Any help is Much appreciated. Larry.

As it stands at the moment, to get into Spain you need proof of double vaccination.

You only have to prove your day two test on your way back to the Uk, so you could book it now, or before you travel back to the Uk as long as you have the code for the locator form for your return.

Just a heads up, I used Dante Labs for my day two and eight tests as I've only had one jab, I also booked a test to release test for day 5, i'm now on day 7 and still not had a result, the best i'll get out of it now is 3 days and and that's if it comes today. I know it needs a quick turnaround to get the results back on day six but that should be the priority for those of us who pay the extra for that service.

Have a look at Martin Lewis  MSE money tips and charge back payments, he shows you how to get your money back if you are not satisfied with goods provided or goods not received, you could probably get your money back from this company as they have failed to fulfil their contract with you.

Yes I can see.one of these companies refunding money ,as they didnt fulfill the agreement  and pigs will fly ,you are hardly likely to  take them to a small debts.court because of the small amount involved  ,if I was you I'd take it up with my mp ,its about time something was done about these charlatans

John 52 Your at it again, you have not read MSE,s statement about charge backs if you had you wouldn’t be putting statements out like your last one.

You obviously haven’t researched chargebacks, you don’t have to take anyone to  the small claims court or contact your MP.

 If the company have clearly not fulfilled their obligations or contract with you, first of all you can ask them for a refund, if they refuse you can contact your bank and ask them for a charge back the same goes for using a credit card.

 THE MAIN REQUIREMENT FOR GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK THROUGH CHARGEBACK IS EVIDENCE THAT THERES BEEN A BREACH OF CONTRACT (ie, didn’t get what you paid for). AND THE FIRM WILL NOT GIVE YOU A REFUND.

AS MENTIONED ABOVE TRY THE FIRM FIRST BEFORE YOU TRY CHARGEBACK.

HERE ARE CIRCUMSTANCES WHERE YOU CAN ASK YOUR PROVIDER TO GIVE YOU A REFUND, IM NOT GOING TO LIST THEM ALL BUT FOR THE PERSON ON THE THREAD WHO HADN'T HAD THE SERVICE HE PAID FOR.

FOR NON DELIVERY, THE GOODS YOU PAID FOR WERE NOT RECEIVED AS PROMISED AND THE COMPANY REFUSES TO REFUND YOU. THAT WOULD INCLUDE TEST RESULTS PROMISED ON A CERTAIN DAY.

THERE IS ALSO SECTION 75 WHICH IS A LEGAL RIGHT FOR CREDIT CARDS PURCHASES, CHARGE BACK ISNT. SECTION 75 MAKES THE CREDIT CARD PROVIDER JOINTLY LIABLE WITH THE RETAILER IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG.

BUT UNLIKE SECTION 75  CHARGEBACK IS NOT LAW BUT IS PART OF A SET OF SCHEME RULES WHICH PARTICIPATING BANKS SIGN UPTO.

SECTION 75  IS FAR STRONGER WHEN IT COMES TO CREDIT CARD PURCHASES SINCE IT IS ENSHRINED BY LAW.

CHARGE BACK IS FOR CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS AND CAN BE USED ON ANY AMOUNT.

SECTION 75 ONLY APPLIES TO CREDIT CARDS AND FOR CERTAIN AMOUNTS OVER £100.

CHARGE BACK IS USEFUL WHERE THE AMOUNT OF GOODS OR SERVICES IS  £100 OR UNDER.

SO IF YOU'VE PAID ON DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD THAT IS £100 AND UNDER YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO SEEK A REFUND VIA CHARGEBACK. IF YOU HAVE PAID MORE YOU CAN STILL USE THE CHARGEBACK SCHEME OR SECTION 75. 

FOR THE ORIGINATOR THAT HASN'T HAS HIS TEST RESULTS PLEASE READ MSE,S CHARGE BACK, AND FOR ANYONE ELSE WHO DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT CHARGEBACK ITS WELL WORTH A READ.

THIS DOESN'T COST YOU A PENNY AND IF YOUR CLAIM IS REFUSED YOU CAN THEN TAKE IT TO THE FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN AGAIN AT NO COST..

THIS IS AN EASY PROCESS AND IS ONLY A PHONE CALL TO YOUR BANK OR CREDIT CARD PROVIDERS AND JOHN 52 PIGS DO FLY SOMETIMES.

THINK OF THE FLIGHTS YOU BOOKED DID YOU GET A REFUND OR VOUCHERS IF THEY OFFERED YOU VOUCHERS AND REFUSED A REFUND YOU COULD HAVE USED THE CASHBACK SCHEME TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK.

Thanks for the helpful advice, I really didn't want to cause a row and I will try this route if they refuse a refund, still no message by the way, which is odd as they sent me a SMS the day after I sent my less important day 2 test.
