Unfortunately, Paul, that argument won't get you far if stopped by the police.

You last 2 posts are contradictory.  Have you had your Spanish residency confirmed yet?  If so, when will you be able to collect your TIE cards?  As I said before, you need residency to exchange your driving licence, but you don't need either to import your UK registered car to Spain.

But I’m a law abiding, financially solvent moron who knows how to register a car in Spain, and within what time scales. I also know how to obtain residencia/ TIE. and within what time scales

I definitely wouldn’t have make quite such a hash of it as you appear to have done

Sofa surf in the U.K? Last I read, you’d sold up and gone to Spain to live 🤪🥂

You obviously have a problem

As you have said often enough, you know nothing about me. I live in the U.K., in Yorkshire. You were a tiny bit off the mark with the value of my property.

Family was your priority? So you thought dragging them to Spain, having had to sell your home in the U.K. to make the financials, without having secured their future, was a good idea? I won’t resort to personal insult, I’ll just say this. You’ve made a right pigs ear of it and want to insult, lie and hoodwink the very people who have tried to help you. No one but yourself to blame 🤪🥂

But it is "necessary", you're breaking the law.

On page 8 of this thread, you made contradictory posts - in one, you state, "By the way, you were wrong about me getting residencia. I have it."  Immediately afterwards, you posted, "Are you stupid? I am a uk resident. I don’t have my tie card so as yet don’t have documentary proof of residencia."

That's why I specifically asked you whether you had received confirmation of residency (the "resulto favorable"), even if you have yet to collect your TIE card.  Why can't you just give a straight answer?  People are trying to help you here, responding with anger and abuse is getting you nowhere.

With regard to police action, I'll give you a couple of examples.  My sister-in-law has been living in the countryside near Catral for 15 years.  One day, driving down the road towards the AP-7, a route she had been taking for years, she was pulled by police for speeding.  Literally, overnight, they had changed the speed limits, but she hadn't noticed the new signs.  She had no money on her, so they accompanied her to the cash point in Catral to withdraw the €100 fine.  Her daughter's friend, resident in Spain but in a UK registered car she'd been driving (illegally) for over a year, was pulled over at a police checkpoint - her car was impounded and crushed.

This seems to have got out of hand, it's a shame you feel like you have to leave because it's a useful site, good luck with whatever you decide.

Really? You the same person who posted on May 23 2021

“....are at our wits-end!!. We really don’t want to resort to living here illegally”

You previously state, in September 2020, that you were “finally here in Torrevieja with my family permanently”

September 2020 to May 2021. That wasn’t illegal then?

11 days later, you appear to have residencia. Wow, well done! Considering all the assistance you’ve asked of members, I would have thought you couldn’t wait to share that with the forum.

I personally couldn’t care less that you live/lived here illegally, or been driving your car in a less that legally permissible manner. What I’d do care about, enough to challenge you, is that you appear to be encouraging others to do the same

Others on the forum don’t know what they’re talking about??? I’d listen to them all day long 🤪🥂

Thank you El

I remember many members trying to guide him through the problems he encountered. Whatever happened along the way, I feel lying and going the “illegal” way is his own business, I just don’t like the portrayal of justification and assuming we’re idiot enough to fall for it.

From the idiot moron 🤪🥂

I see that you asked all the same questions on another forum yesterday and got pretty much the same answers!
