Can anyone tell me what Health Insurance they used for the NLV. Apparently not all are acceptable.

Sandra.

We used Sanitas, £2300 for 2 people both aged 59. We had 10% off that price for paying upfront for the year.

Hi Sandra,

You need to have at least mid range cover, they won't accept basic/entry level cover.  Our mid range cover with ASSSA, ages 60 and 63, with no pre-existing conditions, is €1,780.

Kind regards,

Kim

Gosh that's more expensive that we'd thought, do you get any sort of discount if you pay a year upfront?

Hi Carjelk60,

That's an annual cost of €1,780 for both of us, not each.  We had to pay our first year upfront, as it was a prerequisite for our residency application.  After that, we switched to monthly payments.  We didn't receive a discount for paying the first year in full, but we've had the cover for 5 years and the premiums haven't increased over that period.

Kind regards,

Kim

I got my policy through a broker in Gran Alacant. I went with Salus, top level “Premium” coverage for a little over €1,100.. it pays to shop around!

Hello Saltydog

I think  it is from the approval date. Your Visa lasts 3months & 15days from then & you have to apply for residency in the 1st month you are in Spain. As this is not always a quick procedure  you would  be out of time  to achieve this if you didn't arrive until J...

...an.2022 & I think your Visa would then be invalid.

Ive seen this explanation given before on the forum by a reliable  poster,

I'm looking for the official link but until I find it someone else might confirm what I have posted

Cheers

Where did you have to go for your appointment for your TIE please

I've been in contact with the solicitor we used to purchase our house in Spain 3 years ago. We are arriving in Spain on the 4th of January, and he has asked me to remind him the beginnig of December so he can put everything in place for maybe the week ending 10/17 of January. Our visa is dated from January 3rd.

Is that for one person? Kimmy said the £1780 for both of them.
