Steve,

A very helpful post.

I`ve started to complete my forms but have a couple of questions:

Form 790-052: Do we need a form for each-myself and my wife- and if so do we both tick Principle or does my wife tick Complementaria? There appears to be a second page on the download which is mostly blank. Do we only use the first page, as per the cheat sheet, or is this for the spouse?

EX01-Again I assume a form for each. On the download there is 3rd page, not on the cheat sheet, that details ANEXO01 and 02-Documentos. Is this for admin?

Any assistance woiuld be greatky appriciated

Many thanks and Stay Safe

Hi , just reading William 58's post about the 790-052 form , I have also got a question if anyone can help with please.

On the form with the cheat sheet from the Manchester Consulate in "Box 4" it says to use an abbreviation if you haven't got an address in Spain but the abbreviation is from the USA ( EE.UU ) and not from the UK . Does anyone know the abbreviation for the UK that I could use ?

Many thanks

Hi Gary,

Spanish for the UK is Reino Unido, so does RU work?

Kind regards,

Kim

Thanks for your reply ,

United States is Estados Unidos and they use EE.UU on the help sheet . So as the UK is Reino Unido do you think it would be RR.UU maybe . Just wondered if anyone has gone through the NLV process and remembers filling this section in

Thank you

Hi Gary,

The United States is abbreviated as EE.UU because it's a plural, hence why I suggested RU (or R.U.) for the United Kingdom, because it is not a plural.

As you have yet to receive a response from other members who have been through the NLV application, it may make sense for you to private message Steve, who wrote the guide, direct.

Kind regards,

Kim

Excellent post. Thank you. Do you have a link for the people you used for translating and apostille stamp.

Hi,

Just an update on my NLV which I obtained from Manchester.

After trying unsuccessfully under the withdrawal agreement to get residencia, I paid SMG abogadas in Benijofer about 900 euros because I didn't want to mess up my application. SMG take 450  to get you the nlv, doing all the paperwork and after getting getting the visa sort out the Nie, fingerprints etc. It may seem a bit expensive but I didn't want to fail again.

The only advice I would give if you want to save time is to apply for your police and medical reports asap because they can take many weeks to process. These two have to be apostelled once you get them back and after apostelled you have to get them translated. SMG charged me seperately for the translation over and above their basic charge.

My Doctor's report took an extra two weeks because they had not been apostelled before so they had to be proven to be genuine.

My S1 health form was accepted so that saved me some £2000 for private insurance. And SMG have quoted me 75 euroa vat for converting the S1 into the Spanish medical system. But this can only be done after your finger prints done in Alicante.

If going by train to Manchester, the nearest station to the consulate at 55 Brown Street is  Oxford Street or Piccadilly.

I was under the impression that you would be in an office, one to one with a Spanish person but , it is just a waiting room and I think there are 5 or 6 kiosk queues, qué 1 for passports, qué 3 NLV and qué 5 to pay.

I had a polite, pleasant young lady who checked through my paperwork and documents in about 15 mins without a hitch and then asked me to kiosk 5 to pay the fees. All quite painless and she said we can post or you  can collect your visa and passport in 2 to 3 weeks. Mine took 2 weeks Friday to Friday. The way she said you can collect your visa led me to believe that I would get the visa but I'm sure they have to be vetted in Madrid first.

I hope this can be of help to someone and thanks for all the other posters for contributions.

I do think the process is cumbersome and a tad expensive but I needed to get back to my only home in Spain. Through circumstance I missed the withdrawal window, but these thing happen.

Accepting the S1 form will make it less costly to get the NLV.

Great update Cisco54, many thanks 👍  It confirms that Manchester is, indeed, easier to deal with than London.

Good to hear, too, that someone eligible for an S1 has been successful in using it for their NLV application - theoretically, it was acceptable, but you're only the second person I've heard of who has confirmed they achieved this.

I, too, would recommend SGM - Silvia and her team are very professional.

Congratulations!

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi everyone,it is nearly time to renew my residensia card after my NLV was issued last year. The solicitors in benijofar have emailed me today with what is needed for the next 2 years and it is as follows,

The renewal can be done up to 60 days before expiry date but no more than 90. They have to provide the following electronically to the foreign office in Alicante to be verified.Once the notification has been approved we then have to book an appointment to go personally to the foreign office to get the updated TIE.Paperwork to supply as follows

EX01 application form, health insurance either private or S1.Proof of sufficient and stable funds for the next 2years, monthly more than 4times the IPREm for main applicant and 1 IPREm for each other applicant.Current IPREm is 579.02 euros per month,so approx amount for a couple is 69,482.40 euros or 2,316.08 euros a month.Updated padron less than 3 months from issue. Any documents not issued in Spain must be officially translated.I hope this helps for people renewing.

Fee form 790-052 around 16 euros per person

Passport must be valid for at least one year

Full copy of passport

Your current TIE
