Hello.

We're going to be applying for our NLVs from the Manchester consulate this autumn. Can anyone please tell me:

1 - How long is it currently taking between emailing the Manchester consulate for an appointment and the appointment taking place?

2 - We have the funds needed for the NLV in instant access investments. Can anyone advise exactly what we need from our financial adviser to prove these funds. Is there an example of a letter from a financial adviser that someone has used specifically. I've seen that you can get your financial adviser to confirm you have the funds and they're instant access so this is specifically to ask exactly what I need to ask him to say, in what format, in what wording etc. Does this then have to be Hague Apostilled? and Does it have to be translated into Spanish?

Thank you all for your input.

Lloyd

Try this link . they have changed again. They last changed it on the 11th of Feb. get google to translate it automatically. we have just sent our emails off for a appointment. Good luck

You email Manchester for an appointment, you won't get a reply for about 14 days.

We had to get our UK bank (Lloyds) to print out 6 months statements for current and savings account they had to stamp each page with the branches details. These do not need to be translated or Apostile stamped.

If you are younger than UK pension age, make sure you have the health insurance companies certificate, proof of payment won't be accepted you need the cert.

Manchester Consulate are very very helpful. We had proof of payment for our insurance (Sanitas) but they didn't send us the cert.

The consulate said, they won't be able to process the NLV until they received the cert, however, I could contact Sanitas and forward the cert by email that would be fine. I did think they were going to say I would have to go back, but the young girl dealing with us was as i say very helpful.

Make sure you take a pre addressed envelope to post your passports back as they keep these to put the Spanish visa in it. It took 3 weeks to get them back.

Go to the post office and say you want a pre addressed envelope for 2 passports recorded delivery. They should know the weight.

The most frustrating thing we dealt with was getting our GP to sign our health check.

She was a nightmare, she signed it but according to the Apostile service she was not registered on the Gov GP database.

It took 6 weeks in total to get it back.

Apparently the GP surgery was given a dressing down because the GP signed something without knowing what it was?

A bit worrying but we got there in the end....

Good luck with your quest!

Agree there about the GP. They have been a nightmare.

We applied in London at the end of January 2022 and they kept our passports. There was nothing on the website guidance to say they would - so that scuppered our holiday in February!

We have just had our email returned so we can now book an appointment. How long did they take to return your passports back as we are due to do to spain to complete on May 25th

Thanks

When you got your email back asking you to book an appointment can you go on to the site and see what appointments are available without booking one ? how long did it take to get your passports back?

Many Thanks

Hi All,

A short update.

We gave our finger prints at Benidorm this morning, so in around 30 days we can go back and collect our TIE's!

Its taken almost 7 months (our first document was from our GP on 30/09/2021) to the day to get this far although the tunnel end is in site.

We have already been in Spain for a month, on the Costa blanca North, and have no regrets about going through this process and no intention of returning to England.

Good luck all applicants.

Viva Espana!

MDH.
