We had a message from our Administrators on 4th June saying that there had been no new direction from the College of Administrators, so therefore no AGM’s would be allowed before 31/12/21. This is very convenient for administrators, and they are hoping to move to online AGM’s. I do not think ...

...this is a good idea, and, as president, have said that I would like one in March next year, which is our usual time. I can’t see any good reason not to get back to normal.

Covid has been used for so many reasons NOT to do something , so I agree totally with your stance.

Our community's AGM is taking place tomorrow 2nd August

That’s fine as long as there no more than ten of you. You are not allowed more than ten people in a gathering, I think that’s why AGM’s had to be cancelled.

Apparently you can’t hold valid votes by zoom either, because everyone can see how you’re voting, another reason for cancell

Ah, thanks for that. It explains how some are going ahead and others aren’t. Good to know. 👍

Thanks Julie. We are mainly holiday homes, but usually we have more than the 10 quoted on here. Our AGM is always held by the pool, so I think that some Administrators are using Covid as an excuse. It obviously suits them!

I'm a president and I was advised by our Adminstrators that No AGM's would be allowed before the 1st of January 2022 at the earliest. I know that some have done it with just a few owners attending. However I took the decision that 10 wouldn't go down well with my owners. I asked our Administrators to send out the accounts for the 2 last years, so at least the owners could see that the finances were in good order.

I can't see us holding any AGM's before our normal time which is May. Every Community is different and can make their own decisions within the law.

Thanks for your post. I would not call an AGM before our usual date in March. Some communities have not received their accounts for the 2 years. I wrote a President’s report for 2020, which was distributed with the accounts, to owners at the usual time. We have many new owners, so I think next year’s AGM is important. Administrators are reluctant to schedule meetings.

We had our meeting about a month ago. It was outdoors at the pool and we all took chairs.
