🤣🤣🤣

All we need now is for someone to tell Carole to look on the N332 Facebook page and then we'll have the full gamut of responses that don't answer the question.

Time for me to turn off notifications on this thread methinks 😄

Friend of mine flying from Manchester to Alicante with Ryanair was not allowed to fly with a photocopy of her residencia. This was told to her at checkin. Fortunately someone was able to get the original to her the next day, so then she could fly. As someone said previously Spain always wants ori...

Thanks Kim

our originals are in our house in Spain and no one else has keys to our property!! I’ll phone Stansted Security later today, we do have our SIP, Spanish driving licence and utility bill here, maybe that will help?

thanks again.

Thank you “Me Thinks” for your sense of humour 😏😏

Although, so far, nothing positive has come out of everyone’s input, as a last result I’ll phone Stansted Security, failing a good outcome following that call I’ll have to get someone to break in to our San Miguel casa.

Many thanks

Thank you so much Kim,  hubby had read this but handy you couldn’t find anything relating to an “original” as a “must have”.

I will keep on exploring Ryanair’s “contact us” section until I get a human being interaction via an on-line chat which is really really hard to get to....

...

thanks again

Just a thought...I guess you could try contacting other airlines, such as BA, easyjet, norwegian, etc. As a ex airline employee myself, I would think that the requirements are pretty identical. Personally, my real concern would be at the other end. Getting confirmation from the Spanish authorities that a copy of documentation is acceptable at point of entry, is the key piece of information that you need, in writing.

Thank you Nickie, I’ve just come off the phone to Ryanair using that telephone number you gave me and was told that the person at the other end could only answer questions about what the airline’s requirements are : Passport, Boarding Pass and I think he mentioned face covering, anything else one must speak to “ The Government” My husband spent time on the internet scouring The Government web pages and they are not sure what other documents the Spanish will accept which proves our residency so advise contacting our airline!! or Spanish Embassy, high commission or Consulate in London. Just phoned the consulate in London and one just gets recordings - am going round and round in circles! Haven’t phone any other airlines as am losing the will to live! but will try tomorrow.

will let you know either way how I get on.  Thanks you so much for your help.

I'd say you definitely need the original. A friend who is a resident had been travelling and had never taken her original document with her. She was not allowed back into Spain until she could produce the original document.

She had to ask someone to find it in her apartment and send it to her to allow her to return. She is Spanish speaking so asked the right people for advice.

Ok, either we leave it and hope and pray restrictions etc. ease or we get someone to break into our house.  Our 2 main doors are solid with 3 security bolts? I’m about to throw in the towel at this stage, I’ve had a lot of nice people answer me on this forum and appreciate every comment!

Getting someone to break into your house sounds a drastic and potentially expensive step. If you have someone you trust to break-in why not courier them a set of keys and have them courier the docs and the keys back to you?

Must be cheaper option and will not take that much longer.

Aitch.

Oh I’m sorry about that.   There is another number.  It starts with 0330.  But possibly they will only be able to help with the same thing.  Even when talking to an actual person at Ryanair they are only able to answer questions that are on their system. So almost the same as the botchat!!
good luck with it all.  But surely.  If you have everything they’ll let you home?    So frustrating.
