Hi all,

I've recently bought an apartment in San Miguel de Salinas and plan to go out for breaks on my own.  In my 50's and grown up kids away travelling . I love the beaches and sea swimming and walking my dogs if I drive down ( which I did recently).

Wondering if there are any groups that meet up for walks, lunches, cinema, music/ nights out- anything really.

That was the only downside to my recent stay- not having friends/ acquaintances in the area. Would be appreciative of any information

Pop into your local bars, they’ll be able to advise on social groups and gatherings. Most groups are wither run  from or meet in bars.

There are only a couple of beaches allowing dogs, so those that do are always busy with dog walkers, stop and have a chat with those. They’ll be able to advise on dog walking groups.

There are plenty of group’s advertising in local papers and on Facebook.

Look at the U3A website, they have lots of  little groups.

Thank you Lynn.

Yes, have had lots of chats on the beach with other dog owners. But those who I did chat with didn't seem aware of any groups.

It's good to know of links for future visits as I didn't visit the bars on my own but will pop in for a coffee and check out the posters etc next time

Torrevieja Walking Group on Meetup is a friendly group, and free to join. Dogs are allowed on some walks. Often coffee / beer afterwards
