Well please check motorhome parking on the N332  Police website . Motorhome have the same parking rights as cars ,but must not put out tables & chairs ,awning etc. I personally do not park in street to sleep but many counsels now ,example Moraira allow over night parking for motorhomes in the big carpark for the odd night , local businesses  apparently have asked for this as they love the extra money that is spent in their shops, restaurants etc. Places like El Compello have opened a Aire for motorhome stop overs 8 euros a night i think, just the basic place to stay where you can empty waste & toilet & fill with water.Don't need a clubhouse or swimming pool thats why we don't use campsites, why should i or anyone else pay for what we don't need or want. . If more counsels did the same all problems would be solved. Yes you might get the odd ones who flaunt the rules & park anywhere & dump their waste anywhere, these spoil it for the rest of law abiding motorhomers . You try complaining to the bad apples they can be very ignorant ,Yes they put their tables & chairs out BBQs too , these people should get a heavy fine.

Hope we can end this now !!

Here we go ,misserable people who have nothing to do but moan. These people are not free loaders, they just enjoy living the lifestyle been free not controlled by overpriced camp sites.etc Expected to pay expensive prices for something they do now want, swimming pool noisy bars loud music etc etc...

.... Just a peaceful nights sleep. Most are retired people who do not make lots of noise & rubbish. If the counsels had brains they could like many places in France create Aires at reasonable prices with basic amenities where they can empty waste water & toilet emptying with top up for fresh water  & overnight at a small cost ,everyone would benefit.,Shops restaurants etc. So please stop knocking people for enjoying a free retired life. Bill

Good for you I agree with you the government'pension is the lowest in Europe I say good luck  to them

I agree wholeheartedly.  My campervan cost north of £55,000, paid tax on that.  Pay massive road tax on it and I love it.  I pay high tax with my job.  Hope not too many people think I am some sort of frrrloader when I travel down there from England.....  You should try it.

Me and my husband are hope to do they same I say goid luck to you in France the prices are really cheap in Spain its expesive  you paying your road tax and insurance we live on La Marina there are 2 campers park by the pool that has a high wall so they aren't taking any bodies parking space or outside any ones house enjoy your travels envy you x

Envious, I don't think so ! Shooting off in a lorry to live like a gypsy for a couple of weeks is not my idea of a good time. I can remember when I was a child going off on holiday in a campervan and all the condensation running down the walls and all the damp bedding. No, not for me, I prefer to...

... tour in my car stopping overnight in civilised hotels and pensions where I don't need to take my own kitchen, television and all the other comforts of home and any rubbish is properly disposed of. I don't mind paying for it all either.

You really do need to get a life !! These so called gypsies are normally great people .. yeh you get some inconsiderate ones but you also get people like you who just like to moan for the sake of moaning and who are sitting mortgage free and good pension .... unlike some others  who would like to be in a good financial position but are not

Overall ?.. live and let live !!

I don't doubt that there are some really lovely campervanners but I'm afraid there are also some inconsiderate freeloaders who couldn't care less about the rubbish they leave behind.

Let's agree to disagree.

In every walk of life and race there is good and bad.  So lets all agree there is good and bad in campervan owners. There is also good and bad in ex pats.....  Even if we dont favour a particular passtime or hobby lets not tar all those who do it with the same brush..

I love my California van and it has opened up a new world of possibilities to me.

The law in Spain says, If a camper van is parked and he does not have an awning or chairs out he is not camping.

That is why the Police cant do a thing.
