Anyone know what are the acceptable levels in decibels for music etc in Community residential areas during the day?

Specifically San Miguel de Salinas.

Coming rather late with this. If there is a particular noise level that has prompted you to ask the question, perhaps it might be better to speak calmly and cordially with whomsoever is causing the noise. Sometimes people play music and tend to forget where the volume control is lol. If the outcome of any discussions fails to reach a mutual agreement, then the next step would (as mentioned) have a word with your Community President.

Experience has taught me that Presidents say they will do things and then nothing happens, so I would confirm your conversationand its agreed action if any in writing. It is quite amazing how some Presidents have an alarming attck of memory lapse.

Hi George1940,

You didn't indicate in your post where/how close you are to this happening (pool perhaps?). Or the extent of the disturbance (how loud, how frequent, how long it lasts).

I too have a home, adjacent to the pool, on an urbanisation in San Miguel. During the summer there is often an increase in noise, due to greater use and sometimes people playing music a little louder as they are outdoors. I am aware that some of my neighbours have complained of noise levels in summer, whilst others have complained they in turn are being unreasonable towards families.

My advice would largely be the same as Roy1950: speak to the culprits, and if necessary the President. But I'd also ask some of your other neighbours if they are concerned about the noise also, as if it's a general concern it's more likely to prompt action.

Paul
