Reference Bankia takeover- is it true that there is no way to access BMN bank details on line unless new details are obtained from Bankia etc?

I live in the UK and cannot access my BMN. account since the takeover. I have tried to do it online here in the UK but it is hopeless. I have tried to send monies over today to cover utilities in my house in Spain but the payment is not going through either???. No information received from e...

...ither BMN or Bankia? What a mess? Any suggestions welcome?

I will not be in Spain until the end of May this year?

Hi we had the same problem accessing the account. We sent the money through travel ex as normal but the BMN app didn't work. So reset up with the Bankia App . Put your passport number in and use the same pin....this works same pin and IBAN number is the same.

Thanks BMN for telling us... hope this helps..

Hi everybody, regarding bankia, not been able to speak to anyone yet rang Madrid 50 times this week as we live in England, I have spoken to Iberdrola this morning in English, very good, explained can't access  bank account, but have been advised that if need to ,we can pay over the telephone, but to wait for next bill which is 28/4,  and bankia should pay,

We are with Bancia and when we were over in early March we couldn’t use our cash point cards, on visiting the bank we were told you must update your details in Spain every two years. Once we done that all was fine. Just needed our passports to sort it at the bank. Hope that helps explain maybe ...

Yes it new rules with bankia that all details have to be updated every two years, bank accounts are frozen until this is done, ours was frozen for two months last year, they say they are no obliged to tell you, the update can only be done by attending the bank in person, nightmare if you don't li...

Yes same problem. I rang the cuts service number listed on the note they sent me giving details of my new account number. They said they would call back which they did the next day. The chap spoke English and explained that all was well. I could use my card and all my direct debits Tec were transferred and working. A payment I made into the account visa tran ferwise on 20 th March was there. Just driven down to Santa Pola and card worked at hotels and for fuel. I will go to the bank tomorrow to find out how to get online as before.

I got an email with a forms to download and complete.  We were not given any notice of the changeover but did see a pop-up box saying we needed to insert our email address to get forms.  Obviously all in Spanish (even on the English version of the site).  Overnight the web site changed an instead of our former access code I had to give my passport number instead.  I am currently in the process of notifying all the people with whom we have direct debits about the change in my bank account number, so far all have been paid.  But no one actually informed us that the account number had changed, I just happen to have noticed!  No idea if when I get back to Spain in June if my BMN debit card that I collected from the bank in March will work.

When Cajamurcia changed to BMN it was much more organised and we had no issues at all.  But things changed slowly rather than overnight which was a big help.

Had the same worries. I rang the customer service number and they said someone would call back. They did the next day and in good English said my BIN card could be used and all da's and stand orders had been transferred to the new acc number.  Arrived in Spain on Sunday and I went to bank with passport and they registered me for on line banking. Don' worry. My experience was ok.
