Hi

I'm also a keyboard/piano player...living in Rojales...always like to meet up with other musicians for chats jams ect...also teach jazz piano.

Rgds

Jay..

Jay i am no musician, although i yry. Once i master spoon playing i might be able to give it a go jamming. I am an aficionado big time. Music is as important as eating sometimes. It feeds ones soul. Im not liking what i hear on the spanish radio, but generally love to discuss every sort of music. My grandmother was a pianist, in fact before the second world war she was the pianist in the symphony orchestra in paris...but her musical genius only seemed to pass ln to my siblings and cousins and skipped me lol. Id love to chat though.

Hi

Definitely agree that music feeds the soul...( actually there is a recent Pixar film call ' Soul' that looks good, about a disillusioned music teacher )

I know what you mean about Spanish music but I've had to learn quite a bit of Spanish music and there are some beautiful songs along with the not so good...look up Natalie Perez..Ser Guitarra...love playing this song...and Esta Tarde vi Llover...Presuntos Implicados....both on YouTube.....see how you feel about those...

Never tried the spoons but I've tried castents I just clicked !

Nice one jay. I havent picked up my guitar in over 10 years, but i learnt spanish classical in my lessons, the chords etc, i had to teach myself. I think castenets are spoons? Ive been listening to a band from when i was young recently, do you know sublime...kind of ska punk reggae hip hop in one.

I grew up in a time when mtv actually had decent music and john peel introduced listener on radio 1 to anything from classical music to indir to rock to hardcore gabba, and it saddens me to see what has happened to giving kids new sounds these days. Its all so....apathetic i guess

Absolutely agree today's music is over processed rubbish, sadly the youngsters feel they have to listen to it to keep trendy but it doesn't teach them the beauty of music with substance and emotion...

Great days with John Peel, discovering new music was essential growing up..yes listened to some Sublime back in the 90's amongst dozens of other artists...I worked with a singer / songwriter called Della Perrett..YouTube Complicated Man...one or our joint songs...we had a reggae / ska band called Rhythm Collision, we playedsome big reggae festivals in the uk.

Keep up with the guitar...so many people let the years pass then say...I wish I'd carried on playing all those years ago !

Dude if you were in rythm collision its a bit more hardcore than sks. It makes tim timebomb look like a pussy in comparision. Fair play if it is the band im thinking of...man am i talking to someone famous.? Love the selector, but will happily listen to abba or carol king or krass. Im focusing on playing spoons...honestlu it is harder than it looks lol. Get in touch again...i like talking to new people...my dogs are bored of me

Hi Rob, I've only rejoined the forum as I've been away from it for a couple of years. And I've just come across your post. You've probably found a guitar player by now, but if you are ever looking for another at some stage my partner is a very good guitar player, his repertoire is most genres. Hope you are enjoying Santa pola as its a great place to live.

                                  Many thanks

Hi I don't know how old this post was but although I live in Cocentaina, I am with a band who practice in near Calpe,  what type of guitar player is your husband?

John
