I actually don't have a racist bone in my body, Toby, and why would you feel the need to make a comment on a line of rhyme that was written with humor along with the rest of the piece, I do not know.  Prhaps you have nothing beter to do with your life than pick holes in somebody elses creati...

...viity.  Shame on you.

It's still racist though ! Maybe you should consider amending it ?  I made a comment because in this woke day and age, racist references are generally frowned upon.

No, I shan't amend a work of mine because someone considers it to be racist.

And, by the way, I have nothing but contempt for the 'woke' movement. These idiots need to spend their time on real things instead of imagined slights.

Absolutely agree with you, if somebody is offended by what you've said then they'll have to deal with it, and next time they should pass you by.

I think what has negatively been exploited by the media is the fact that the UK chose to leave the European Union, nothing more, nothing less.

The whole ‘left Europe’ piece has been overplayed to drive through an agenda of rejection and separatism and to drive a wedge through the European nations and to dissuade others from leaving the EU block

Europe is a continent of the world and the European Union an administrative / political entity, according to my schoolday understanding the two things are not the same.

I have studiously avoided this thread because I knew it would raise my blood pressure, but curiosity eh?. Regardless of how the UK residents voted, I find the whole idea of someone living here in Spain voting for it just absurd. What possible benefit did they envisage? Please, enlighten me

But, that was one of the major points of contention.  Those expats living in Europe were not allowed to cast their vote because the politicos knew that it would swing the vote against leaving the EU.  As usual the politicians serve themselves and their ideologies, sorry I meant Swiss bank accounts, and not the people who voted them into power.

Apologies, if my understanding of the situation is wrong, but it was my understanding that anyone registered in the UK within the previous 15 years had a vote. That notwithstanding, any 'winter' residents definitely had a vote, and I've met a few who voted to leave... 2 of whom who are now permanent residents. To be fair, both now regret the decision to vote leave
