As a non British person who is a believer in the EU project and no fan of the current Tories or Brexit,. I don’t see this as satire - more statements of political belief with rhymes. I might also need to “get a life”, but I’m not surprised people whose politics differ from mine would take...

I repeat, I write to entertain, however the reason I write satirical poems is to express my frustration, disgust and anger with things that go on around the world.  90% of the poems I write are around American politics which is a thousand times more disgusting that the Uk. But I repeat, I write to entertain.  If you're not entertained, so be it.

I love my life and my freedoms. Freedom to comment on a poem YOU chose to publish is also my right and if you're offended by other's issues with the Brexit inclusions in said poem well that's on you. You don't have a right not to be offended. My reply was based on the implication that Brexit/UK =...

... bad, EU = good. That's an over simplistic trope which should have been put to bed long ago. But carry on with your poetry - we all need a hobby.

I don't get offended, Dave, and I never, ever get angry. I thought your comments were unnecessary, and irrelevant.

Brexit?   I think you are mistaken. The problem all along was the pandemic. In order to keep businesses going, our government had to fork our masses of money. During lockdown, businesses were closed so no money going back to the government   The cost of providing hospital care, covid tests, covid test centres, vaccinations and more snd more and more cost the government a fortune.  Once, the restrictions were lifted and life was allowed to resume as before, that didn’t happen because vast numbers of people were perfectly happy to continue working from home and didn’t wish to return to their places of employment. Few people travelling on public transport, restaurants sitting empty, shops selling little or nothing. Businesses really felt the pinch. On top of that, previous employees decided not to return to their jobs and suddenly we found ourselves extremely short of hospitality workers, health carers and numerous other jobs.  Nobody could gave foretold the outcome. WHERE DOES BREXIT COME INTO THIS?  BREXIT HAS BEEN AND GONE. INDUSTRIES ALL OVER  EUROPE ARE SUFFERING.

The cost of living.   Do you seriously think that the cost of living hasn’t been felt elsewhere?  Don’t be ridiculous!  It’s everywhere. EVERYWHERE.  My groceries in Lidl the other day was €20 more than they cost in the summer and the cost in the summer had also increased by €20 from Christmas. That’s a full .€40 more in less than a year. That’s only food.

My son-in-law law works in Banking and he told me last year if situations he’d encountered   Senior people went home to India and other countries and worked remotely which was fine during lockdown but when they decided to continue working from abroad and still being paid a huge London salary that’s when things began to collapse. Now, people have been made redundant and their jobs are being done in countries where the cost is much less. CHANGE has happened. People do not physically have to return to their place of employment but what happens next? It’s a knock on effect. Bit by bit, we are going to lose businesses, BIG BUSINESSES.  Is this Brexit?  No. It’s money. it’s vital that this isn’t allowed to happen. Commerce must be made to continue in big cities. Our government must encourage growth and positivity.

With online shopping, we are witnessing the demise of shops in every town all over the country.  How do we change that? Is that Brexit too?  I don’t think so.

Negative talk is dangerous.  We must stay positive and support our local shops. I got one must change my ways and go back to shopping locally. I actually went out shopping before we travelled over here recently. I was in shops I hadn’t been in for years. Instead of seeing half a dozen assistants, there was one. With her help, I purchased the loveliest outfit in no time at all. It’s time we supported our local shops and businesses. Otherwise, our towns are going to disappear and we’ll be left with nothing but fast food outlets.

With a great deal of respect, Gordon, you're not paying attention to what is going on in the UK.  Businesses are failing all over the place; costs of everything have gone through the roof, etc.  All of it is due, in some respect to Brexit. Please note that I'm not intersted in getting i...

Thankfully the rest of the world didn’t suffer lockdown and the effects of the war in Ukraine, the U.K. are just very unlucky!

The remoaners come out but mostly at night as daytime they walk by the sea.

Their words carry no clout as second they be in our democracy.

They huff and they puff and shout out aloud this vote was wrong as far as I can see.

Sore losers they are, unhappy and sad that brexit came to be.

Don’t give up your day job. Your poetry is crap as is your blinkered view of brexit non-benefits

Aikidoamigo, it may be an old chestnut, but it's my old chestnut, and I have no problem putting it in front of the fire to heat it up.  It is interesting though that the people, like yourself, who comment negatively on anything  that is not pro-Brexit feel driven to do so, rather than j...

I remember last time you used many a reason to explain away your gibes whilst claiming innocence in ‘all things remoaning’… so at least this time you have admitted that it is a ‘Chestnut’ that is perhaps part of your agenda and motivation behind such ramblings.

Im not sure why my comments should be seen as negative 😳🤔

Another heap from Mr Rocharde. The poetic ability of a 5 year old and the same political understanding. Anyone know if this man needs help? Is there any signposting the group can do, where he can receive the help he clearly needs.
