We are moving to Spain on 21st April 2015 and need to have a good speed internet as soon as we get there.  We are also looking at TV (including English TV is possible).  Does anyone have some advice on the best provider or put me in touch with a local company that can come and sort it our for us?

Many thanks

Sharon

Hi there Sharon! Thanks for joining the Costa Blanca forum! We shall investigate this for you and find the best internet service provider for you. Are you looking for one in the Sax area or anywhere else in particular?

Hi, it will really depend on where exactly you will be living whether it is a flat or townhouse in the town centre or slightly out on an urb or campo house. Your profile says Sax so I assume you will be in that area?

First stop is normally Telefonica/Movistar, they have a "Comprueba tu cobertura" page on their website which if you already know the adress you enter it and it will check to see what service is available. You could get lucky and get fiber optic if they have installed it in Sax or more likely it will be a copper connection with around 10gb download speed. If you can get a connections then it's worth checking other providers for better deals.

Alternatively there could be nothing so you need to search for another option and the best I have come across is to use a wimax provider, speeds are not superfast we get 6gb down but it is consistent and have never had an issue with it. Good wimax providers also tend to offer unlimited data which is something satellite tends not to and you can get a phone line through them as well.

So really it will depend, it could be easy enough or it may not be depending on location.

Hi all,

Weii we made it and are now in our villa .We initially went with Telefonica but when the engineer came out he could not recieve a signal on his equipment .

We were then given details from our estate agent of a company called Comenersol Wireless (966 195 858),we contacted the company and they came out two days later and fitted the equipment within forty five minutes..job done back on the grid.

Regards

Nora
